I put some of those 20$ headlight tints on my blk/blk '05 coupe the other day, and drove it at night for the first time last night. They really take away from the light!! I think they were only supposed to reduce light by 15% or something, but it seemed more like half!!our thoughts???
I will probably take them off today. Thats one of the things I love about c6's is the great visibility. I am not willing to give up any safety for a little cooler look.................your thoughts?

I had a set on mine also... Thought the looked too dark, I replaced them with a lighter tint....
It's a no-brainer IMO...your headlights and tail-lights are functional and safety related. There's no way I would diminish the effectiveness of either.
To knowingly make your car less safe (for yourself, your passengers and for others) solely for the sake of appearance doesn't make sense. Most all States regulate window tinting as a matter of public safety. Although I despise the ever-increasing Government intrusion into our lives I feel they should do the same for the tinting of headlights and tail-lights.
It's not so much safety as it is replacement cost from debris on our roads hittin those clear lenes covers. I have Yellow film on mine and I think it's down maybe 6%, and I don't drive that much at nite. It does look dark on your ride tho! Happy Indy to you today....

Totally agree with Wayne! Why take away any of your ability to see or be seen!

I've never understood the headlight tints or the dark window tints for that matter. I got stuck out of town several years ago with a broken pair of driving glasses and had to use my dark sunglasses. I got home just before sundown and it convinced me to keep dark tints off the car. But I do love the look of those limo tints!

Ignoring the safety aspect for a moment. The corvette headlights are one of my favorite things on this car. You rarely see headlight assemblies body matched to the car and on the vehicles that do have it most are very high end supercars. I can't imagine covering those up.

Not a big fan of the look. And there has been conjecture that this would cause heat build-up and crazing/cracking of the headlight assy lenses ... but haven't seen anything definitive on that issue.
