Headers and NO Catbacks...
I want headers but do not want excessive cabin noise and by excessive, I mean that I cannot hear the radio or have a normal conversation with the windows up while cruising at 75-80 mph. I understand there will be noise at WOT.
If you have installed long tube headers with hi-flow cats and kept the entire stock exhaust, the sound is:
I have it like that....LG longtubes, bullett cats and stock cat back. Almost stock while idle and driving normally, then at WOT, it gets really nice, loud, but not schrillish or like a dentist drill, but a roar similar to exotics.
Kooks headers here with stk catback. Actaully even at normal acceleration I hear it and it sounds much better than stock. At cruise no drone at all. Not a bad way to go. If you still want louder you can upgrade the catback after. Try it 1st.

Forgive me Ted, but I humbly disagree. There is annoying drone at 1500- 1900 RPM with Kooks, 3" cat x-pipe and stock mufflers.
A bit louder at normal acceleration and louder at WOT. You will hear the valve train noise as well - in all situations

I agree with the valve train noise, but I know drone as I had it in my last car with borla's. Drove me nuts. If there's drone believe me my wife would hear it. Not a peep.
I've got LG long tubes, no cat, Vararam CAI, and Route 66 exhaust. I drove the car for a week or two with everything but the Route 66's. Headers will wake up the stock exhaust. You will notice that it is louder, but it's not excessive. Add the CAI and the stock exhaust will sound even better. After adding the CAI and headers, I almost kept the stock exhaust. It is really different with these two enhancements. It's louder simply because there is more air flowing through it. In order to get a lower exhaust note, I added the B&B route 66's. The exhaust is now the way that I want it, but I do get drone at 1500 rpm. Since I drive with the top down 90% of the time, it doesn't bother me. I shift around it as well. My advice would be to add the headers, then a CAI and if you still think it's too soft, then a catback. Hope that helps!

Fair but not great.
Its definitely an improvement over the stock manifolds and stock catback system. But still quite anemic once you hear Corsa Sports behind those headers.
You will definitely hear more valvetrain noise and exhaust pulses with the headers.
A good aftermarket catback system will get rid of most of that, and if they are Corsas there is minimal if any drone at all.
I'm going to go ahead and don my flame suit here, but the headers and Corsa Sports sound like a late model Mustang GT, or SVT Cobra, with it's stock exhaust. To me, there is not a better sounding car at idle and at mid throttle than the late model Mustangs.
