Default Xm button missing from touch screen

I got in by car and turn on the radio\ with NAV. No XM buttons on the touch screen anymore. I had added the sirius to repalce the XM, and it had been working finefor months Dealer says that the radio is a non XM, non satillite, even tough I have an antenna for XM. so they will not replace the radio.

Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks

I don't know if my problems are the same as yours. When I picked up my car for the first time the XM radio button did not show up on the touch screen. The dealers mechanic fixed the problem which he said was a bad terminal in the wiring harness to the XM radio module. The radio worked for one year and the same thing happened again. This time the mechanic call the GM tech center and they told him to replace the radio module with a newer one since the one in my car was an older unit and that GM had problems with these. So far everything has worked OK.

I think someone here in the forum said that if you discontinue the use of the XM Radio by not subscribing to it, the button will vanish on its own. I do not know if that button is replaced or continued if you are using Sirius.

x-nay, I've replaced the XM with the SIR-1 unit, no problems installed over a year ago. Check the Wiring harness and antenna connections.
