Are Raceramp "XT's" and "Rollups", in conjunction with each other, ideal to do exhaust and oil changes on Z51's. Saw in the search's that they (Brute) has a pic of C6 rolled back onto them. I'm not that big but still want the car off the ground as much as possible to be able to do the work.
Need to get my new Borla on and it's time for the first oil change. I really don't know if I want to take a chance and take it anywhere to get them done.

I used exactly that to put my Borla on, just backed up onto the XT's with the rollups in the front. Great set of ramps IMHO. I figure the ramps will pay for themselves in a few oil changes.
I used Race Ramps and jack stands when I installed a Corsa system. Had plently of room. Now I have a set of roll ups and the Race Ramps. I don't think you'd have any problem using that set up to install a new exhaust system. Some people change oil without even lifting the carl. I haven't tried that particular feat and probably won't.... I'm just not that skinny! .... Do a search and you''ll see lots of suggestions on how to change out your exhaust system. Shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours. BTW an extra pair of hands come pretty handy when doing the exhaust. I did it by myself but it would have gone much faster and smoother with someone helping me.......
I watched the Ecklers video on Borla exhaust install and seemed pretty concise. However, you still have to know what the end result has to feel and look like. I just want to make sure spending this "ramp money" will give the right results. Sounds like it will pay for itself for future endeavors.
BTW, I noticed on my new, still in the box, Borlas that one of the hangers seems to be a little crooked. Will that play into the final appearance of the alignment from the rear view? Don't know if you're suppose to try to bend to straighten out, as it may break the weld, etc.
Can't speak to Borla's but everything was straight and true on my Corsa. Don't think it'd be big deal if you had to straighten a hanger and I doubt it would break off. These systems are stainless so they will take a fair amount of bending before ever snapping off. Do a search for installing because members have posted some excellent tips on doing it. BTW... one thing I found was to leave everything loose until you are sure the TIPS are lined up perfect. After you start tightening check make sure nothing has moved. This is where an extra pair of eyes really comes in handy. I used a good torque wrench but I'm sure you can do the install without one. After in finish the install and drive it for a couple of days, BE SURE and retighten everything. My clamps loosened up and it was a good thing I retightened them.... Take your time and have fun with the install.........
Thanks Craig. I'll call Borla and ask about bending the hanger. It's not much but if it means achieving the correct alignment, that's what I'll do.

I had two out of four tips that were just a hair out of alignment, so I took a pipe wrapped in a rag, stuck it inside the tip and bent them back into place. I even had to bend the left two up a bit so I wrapped my floor jack with a towel and just jacked up the tip a few times till it was even.
One thing I'll tell you, my original x pipe sections pipes were somewhat out of round from the factory axle back. I had to rent a pipe expander from Advanced Auto to open up both pipes cause I could not get the Borla pipes to slide on.
I love the Borla Touring system, (axle back) no drone and just enough sound.

Thanks for the tip Mike. I'm going to safeguard and call Borla as well. BTW, did you have to clean any residue or coating off of your tips when you took them out of the box. And how did the finish on the rest of the system look?

My exhaust was completely wrapped in plastic when I unboxed it. There was a thin coat of sometype of lubricant on everything, something they use during the mandrel bending process. The tips I just wiped down with brake clean before I started the car, the mufflers and pipes I left alone.
The tips are not super polished but I purchased the polishing kit from forum dealer/sponsor Pipedreams. I have yet to have a chance to polish them though.
It's a pretty simple install, drop the entire exhaust from the front to back and you'll have no issue. You'll have to wrestle a little bit with the rubber muffler hangers, but putting a bit of WD-40 on them makes the brackets slide out easy.
