Check Gas Cap
Everything that I have read on this forum in the last 2 1/2 years has either happened or I'd bet it will happen to my mid year 2005.(Just a bit of an exaggeration as I haven't had DBS or the crank pulley problem) Read here that this is just a replacement cap thing and should be no big deal. Since my gas gauge is acting up, I have had both fuel sensors replaced, hopefully all that is needed is a computer reflash. Sure am glad that I still have 8 months of warranty left and will sure give that GEICO mechanical breakdown insurance a run for its money. I'll be keeping this thing, I still like driving it and look forward until everything mechanical on the car has been replaced. Better see if they can hear that clunking in the rear end this time. Yikes, eddie
I've been fortunate with my 2005...it's been relatively problem free and what problems there have been have been few and minor. I don't assume I'm going to have a problem....I believe I won't have a problem. I know it's a car and at some point I will but it makes me happy to believe I won't.
I take it you have a "check gas cap" warning. I had this happen once....following advice from others I merely tried screwing the gas cap back-on 'loosely.' Try not screwing the cap on tight. It worked for me...I've never had another "check gas cap" warning.
GM has a new and improved gas cap, might be worth getting one. If yours has a green seal it should be replaced with a new one and I think the seal is orange or red.

Same thing worked for me...just hold up and screw on lightly.
The cap locking mechanism on my '05 broke and wouldn't allow the cap to be tightened. I had it replaced about a month ago and all's well now. I only ran it in broken mode for the few miles to the dealer, but never got any warning or error codes.
Had the "check gas gap" message appear for the first time yesterday. I cleared it, kept driving. Comes back on again. After reading all the "issues" here the last few years, I was thinking, "oh no, what now?"
So I pull over, and check the gas cap. Hmmm, it's not on - just sitting over the filler opening loose. I secure the cap, and drive off, no more messages. Go figure.
