This is my first Vette, so please cut me some slack. The drive train (M-6) seems to be awfully noisy taking off in first and cruising in general. Is this normal with the Vettes or do I need to be concerned?
What year is your C6 and how many miles ???
Mine is six months old, been tracked four times and auto crossed once, 12300 mi, and it is very smooth and quiet,
It's difficult to know without hearing it but my manual shift doesn't make any excessive noise that I'm aware of. If you're concerned about it, take it to the dealership for an evaluation.

2007 with only 100 miles. When I first let the clutch out it seems a little noisy until the rpms pick up. I am not hearing any particular noise, it's just that the drivetrain seems a little noisy. It is probably normal and something that I am not use to since the Vette is small car and the seats seem to built around the drivetrain.
My 06 also makes a little noise at low RPM's when releasing the clutch in first. It doesn't do it all the time, and I've only got 1400 miles on it. I think it is normal.

I think it all depends on where you came from before your C6. If you were driving a so called luxury performance car you could be used to a isolated engine & drivetrain. Also were you driving a manual shift or auto? That right there requires an adjustment phase.
Try slipping the clutch a little more from dead stop and a little more throttle. You could very well be stressing the drivetrain by being too conservative.
Being involved in the car business, I can tell you there is definitely an adjustment period to becoming part of your car and not just a driver.
If all else fails-that's what warranties are for!

I think you are right on. I came from an SRT-8 Charger with the 5 speed auto. I believe I might be bogging it a little by not giving it enough gas like you mentioned as well. Thanks for the input.
I think what you might be talking about is the "ratteling" noise that you hear just as the clutch is almost fully engaged as you are starting from a dead stop in 1st or even from a roll in a higher gear. What I've been told is it's the clutch making that noise and is completely normal.
