HP Question
I know the engine is 400 HP. How much HP do the 05-07's have at the rear wheels?

340-350 for a manual transmission, about 15 less for an automatic. Keep in mind that there are a lot of variances in different dynos.

Yet another dyno thread since those numbers came out from LGM on the '08.
If you search this forum, the following numbers are the ones you will typically find reported for the pre '08 C6 from the Dynojet dyno.
340-355 for the manuals
325-335 for the automatics.
The above are rough numbers, some examples have come in at a couple HP more.

Supposedly, about 326 for an automatic, about 340 for a manual tranny.

The nice thing is you can change the RWHP number.

And as has been the practice since the dawn of time, if you don't like your dyno numbers, find another dyno.

Different dyno's will produce different results. Plus, the weather on the day you have the run taken will play havoc with your results.
To determine rwhp, take the crank hp and multiply by 82% (accounts for the drain to the rear wheels):
crank hp x 0.82 = rwhp
This math works on a "normal" day, with normal temps and humidity.
That would equate to 328 rwhp on a stock C6. The tranny type also will influence your final number, but not by a lot (about 1-2%).
For example, Doug Rippie did a dyno for me one day, and the next day, the numbers went up 25 rwhp, mostly because it was slightly cooler and more dry outside.
It's like getting your house appraised - you can find an appraiser that will say just about anything you'd like.

It's not as precise as one would think. #s vary with air temp, humidity, Type dyno, and dyno operator.

Why the difference?
Probably a stupid question, but why are the rwhp #'s higher for the manual trans.?
