It unbolts, as apposed to unlatches like the coupe.
You can convert it to latches, but then the frame needs stiffening. The conversion companies that are doing it are adding significant frame stiffening to the Z06 chassis. The aluminum Z chassis was not intended to run without the roof, it flexes like crazy with the roof out and if you know what metal fatigue means... Won't be too long before the doors won't open without the proper frame modifications.

Amen. Z06 without a roof is a bad idea. The amount of flex you will get will takes the edge off precise steering input. The squeak and rattle factor from the flex alone would drive me nuts.
As you read, the Z06 cannot structurally withstand the stresses associated with a removable targa top.
I'll relate a funny story I heard from another C6 owner and forum member......he noticed a new Z06 while at a gas station and struck-up a brief conversation with the owner of the Z06. Soon he noticed that the Z06 had a removable top.
The owner of the Z06 said he paid a local company $1,900.00 to make his Z06 into a targa. The workmanship was first-rate but the guy did not have any idea that he just ruined his Z06 making it structurally un-sound (and likely loped about 90% off his resale value).
The last I heard the Caravaggio conversion, with extensive structural re-enforcements, will cost about $20,000.00.
Would make more sense to buy a C6 and add enough go mods to give it at least the same if not more hp and possibly a widebody conversion than to neuter a Z06 like that. You'll also save more coin.
