I've seen some vettes that have mud flaps behind the back tires. Are these factory, aftermarket or home made. Do those of you who have them like em, and did you put them on yourself. I kinda like the looks and I think it will save the paint behind the tires. It seems like some have them however and some don't.

No dis to Pipedreams, I was gonna go without them until I noticed a small scratch in the paint behind one of my rear wheels... I put on a pair I got from Mid America Corvettes http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.305.6776
As you can see on my car they are almost invisible...

I have the pipedreams ones. They are good, but not for me. i still have them on (scratched the paint with one of the clips trying to get them on in the dark so i dont want to take them off). i'll keep them on but in retrospect would probably rather have just left it alone. good product if you want mud flaps. i've also seen the apsis ones and was impressed but they were pricey if i recall correctly.
They don't cover some areas, and both the front wheel ones came off somewhere on a long road trip (I think the combination of heat & water splashing got to them). Thinking about the Apsis ones now, as I need to keep what paint is left behind the wheels still there. I have sandblasted it pretty good so far.
I have Ed's on my '07 MRM convertible, and although you can hardly see them unless you look, they have made a big difference in splash protection. I would say that's a pretty good product - they do what they're supposed to do without calling attention to themselves or spoiling the look of the C6. You can buy bigger ones if that's what you want to do, but these are just what I was looking for.

I agree...the Splashguards worked for me. You can actually put them on by hand...have to push hard though....they have saved the underside of my fender wells...no doubt about it.
Who is Ed. Also the consensus seems to be that they are worth the money, they do the trick and Pipedreams or nakidparts is the best value and product. I did see where madvet.com had some that were color coated to your cars paint scheme, however they were about $100.00 more. Not sure it's worth it. I'm about 90% convinced to to with Pipedreams except I think his site said they were out of stock at the moment.

They're worth the wait. Very inconspicuous and do the job. I drive on dirt roads every day and no chips yet.
Another vote for Pipedreams' flaps. They're a good combination of being inconspicuous enough and working well enough, and the black material matches nicely to the other black parts on the car. I've had them on for a year and a half now with no problems.
