Driving into work this morning on Central Expressway. For those of you unfamiliar with Dallas it's US-75, always busy, always a parking lot, and always under construction.
I see the telltale four round brakelights from a distance of a black C6 similar to mine. I think my car had a dog-like "need to speed up and sniff the tailpipe moment" which I'm sure we all do. I then drive up along side and notice a rather attractive blonde driving the car.
I smile and wave but unfortunately I think she was too busy yapping on the cellphone to notice. Oh well at least I tried, and before anyone asks no I do not have pics of said blonde.
I got snubbed twice in a row this morning, within 10 seconds of each other!
I'm driving in slow traffic and first I see a pewter C5 vert pull past me on the left, and I look over and the driver doesn't look over at all, despite the fact that I had my hand out the window already waving to him. Then right behind him was a red C5 Z06, and the exact same thing happened, he didn't even look over at all! That just ticks me off, there is no way they could be so out of it that they didn't spot me. How hard is it to wave to someone, seriously! I wave at every single Vette I see, no matter what, even if I know they probably can't see me (such as if I'm on the highway and they are way on the other side)
It's been very bad this year, my return wave ratio is probably under 20%. The wave is dying.

No it's not, look below.
Don't feel bad, in L.A. it's just as bad. But that doesn't stop me from waving either.
Some wave - some don't. Most of the non-wavers I have found to be women. Waved at one on Monday - no response.. Waved at a guy today - got a wave back......
Spent this past weekend in Pismo Beach, for the annual Arroyo Grande car show. We got waves both going and returning home from
all sorts of car people Vettes, customs, vintage muscel, and just vintage.
Forum member 'Yellow Z 06 ' won 2nd place in the Corvette class.
It seems around here that it is still alive. I have only owned my C6 for 5 weeks, but my wave ratio is around 90%. I have had a few non-wavers. One was in a C4 and the other two were when I was in my beater. Hell, one guy in a vert even saw me in his rear-view mirror at a stop light and waved.
Us Harley riders have a wave, it's low to the ground and laid back. If you give another rider the wave and they don't wave back we turn around, chase them down and beat the crap out of them. Well maybe not all Harley riders, it could be just me. I will tell you this, my percentage of waves from the people that I have chased down is 100% the second time I see them. I suppose that's too "wrong side of the tracks" for vette owners huh?
I saw 3 Vette's in Austin yesterday after work while going on a pleasure cruise...
1) Silver vert C6. Behind me at a traffic light on Jollyville. I kept looking back at him, but he didn't wave. When light turned green, traffic thinned out and he changed lanes, but never got next to me. I waved as he passed when I turned left, but I don't think he saw.
2) Red C5 at Chevron at 2222 and Mopac. He was pulling in as I pulled out, I waved, couldn't tell if he returned (I think he didn't).
3) Cross paths with a Monterey Red C6 around Steck and Mopac. He waved first.
Chevy/GM should put save-the-wave info in the owner's manual.

Too funny! Actually, when I cruised in my 72 with the top down, Harley riders always gave me the low wave. When in my Z06, they never waved
