NPP with M2W is pretty hard to beat for most people. Definitely when you consider it is an OEM system. I leave mine open most of the time, even when cruising as I installed Crazy Cowboy's insulation kit and it takes care of the drone. Even the wife likes the sound of the NPP open better. There are times when it is nice to go "silent" though.

NPP '08 Stainless Steel. Any polish will do...I bought Mother's because it was on sale. I used to polish them every week until I discovered Rejex. Now I polish them 2X a year, apply Rejex - and simply wipe them off using a small washcloth any time I want them to look like this.
The tips didn't look this way when my car came off the assembly line but you can get them that way using a little elbow grease and polish. They're not so big in diameter that they're "in your face" similar to what the ricers like.

Here's a pic of the BIG tips on my NPP equipped 08.

BTW-I use this stuff to shine up the tips.

People think the tips are chrome instead of SS.

I went from Corsa Xtreme's on my '05 to NPP w/ M2W on my '08 and was surprised how much I liked them. Yes, there is a little more drone than the Corsa system if you drive with them open all the time, but it's worth the aggresive sound. I also like that it comes with the x-pipe. Surprisingly, it still gurggles as much as my Corsa's w/out the x-pipe did. My wife actually comment the other day about how she loves that sound.

Regarding cleaning: Since I drive with mine open all the time, I find that one of the two pipes on each muffler is always much dirtier. My assumption is that the M2W bypass releases exhaust out only one set of the pipes? It's definitely not easy to keep them clean. Also, consider the power increase of using M2W. A buddy of mine has an A6 w/ headers and all the bolt-ons. He dyno'd it with the pipes closed and lost around 20-30 HP at the rear wheels compared to when open!

I just got a used NPP exhaust to a 2008 for $600 and I noticed that the pipes are open in standard mode and then blocked with the vacuum. Is there a problem with lost of pressure on factory installed NPP resulting that the startup will be in loud/open mode?

How long will it take to loose the pressure? I'm looking at "NPP in A Box" or if there is a modification that can be done with just a vacuum pump together with a valve.

Thank you for your support!!
