A little background, I own a 99 vert. My family just stepped up to the plate and bought a 07 very within the past year. The car is fantastic to say the least. Just today their check engine light came on. The C5 guys had a post that detailed how to use the DIC display to list the trouble codes within the PCM. Does anyone have the details on how to access the codes on a C6 and also a listing of all the possible trouble codes that the computer monitors?
I tried going through the C5 steps to access the codes and it didn't work. I feel sure someone out there can help.
As always, thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
The C5 steps to access the codes will not work on the C6. You have to use a scanner for the C6 codes.
I've not ever had a problem with the Check Engine light, but I think a few who have had a problem with the gas cap not being tight. Other problems will trigger it too, but I'd check that first.
Thanks Jim. I think the parental units did make sure the gas cap was tight and the light did not disappear. Is it because the car is so new that accessing the codes isn't know yet or did GM decide they wanted their service departments to get the money?
BTW, that vette of yours looks great. My family's is the same color. I have never driven a car that has gotten more complements on the paint!
Also if it was the gas cap the light may not go out for several days, maybe even more. The car has to be in certain conditions to run the Emission Control System Leak test.

Thanks. I thought I wanted a Victory Red, but changed my mind when I saw this 06 Monterey Red on the dealer's lot. I even had an 07 Victory Red ordered , but canceled it after I bought the 06.
Yeah, I have only driven their car on a limited basis but each time I have gotten some very nice complements.
The best was at a gas station here in Raleigh. Some guy and his wife are in Trailblazer not even buying gas. I had just washed the car. This guy pulls up and get out of his truck and says....: "This car is so beautiful, it looks like the paint is still wet." I urged him to buy one...definitely a corvette man. I hope she let him.
