I'll fess-up...the smoking lamp is lit...I do on occasion. I'm careful, I keep the car well-ventilated and I wouldn't dream of throwing a butt out the window.
I'm mindful of health concerns; respectful of those that don't smoke; and, I support the rights of those that do. I am trying to wean myself from the habit. I have hand-rolling tobacco sent from England and I'm down to about 5 a day. My car is about my only remaining sanctuary.
My car isn't a museum...I drink, eat and even smoke in it. If the C6 was a bit more accommodating, I might even have sex in it.
If your alone I would "think" its possible. I would not post it though
I smoke, and I'm used to the lectures. Free world. I don't smoke if I have a nonsmoking passenger. I don't smoke if the top is down. Blows ashes all over. I also drink coffee and bottled water.
In fact I've even drank hard liquor! Once... While sitting in the garage admiring my new toy!
Don't smoke at all, but a couple weeks back, was stuck in traffic and saw this gorgeous LMB coupe and as I pull up next to it, some tool was smoking like a chimney. To add insult to injury, the lung cancer bag didn't even return the wave. I just thought "What a waste of a future collector's car"

I got the car last August, was diagnosed with Diabetes in November. Decided than and there it was time to make some serious lifestyle changes if I wanted to enjoy my Vette for the next twenty years or longer. So I quit smoking, cut down on drinking, and hired a nutritionist to learn how to eat right.
In some twisted way, getting Diabetes was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I dont smoke and would not do so in the vette if I did. I've tried to clean the film & stench of smoke out of other cars with limited results. My hunch is that it impacts the resale value as well.
I'm not one of those who wants to ban smoking or penalize the tobacco companies. If folks want to smoke then it's fine with me. But my mom passed away last year from lung cancer. Her mom died the same way. Smoking always seems to end badly. So if the grime or resale value is not motivation then consider having those who love you watch you waste away, bald from chemo and gasping for breath. It's a long way from the full-of-life image of driving around in your Corvette...
I don't like anyone smoking within 50 feet of my car, to say nothing of IN it!!!!
I smoked in my car the very day I drove it off the dealer lot. I figure, I'm gonna do it some time during the life of this car, no point in delaying the inevitable.
