Default shark

i have always had some sort or muscle car, and still do. i have a thumping big block in a 64 truck, and have a 82 vette. i just sold a camaro with a stroked 408 small block, fast and whith 3 inch exhaust the cam thumping could set alarms off in parking lot. i bought a 2006 c6 last month with 18000 miles on it. it has a few mods, tune and exhaust, i am going to be putting more on it, im sure.

i find that i love this car, i get the same feeling of power and excitment driveing it as anything i have had in past. i dont even ride my harley any more.
bad part is everytime i get on interstate or two 4 lane highway, red light, i size every thing up, look for camaros, mustangs anything. ive only run one time, (smoked a rouch mustang new model) that he initiated but it wouldnt take much to get me too., the temptation is like amonkey on my back, im sprung. iknow street racing is bad and dangerous, and not approved. i have no tickets or accidents and am in forties. when i bought it the guy said buy a radar detector, i told him i dont need it i dont speed..... i know now why they call these things sharks

im a silver shark alway lurking.....

You're correct...driving a C6 can be a temptation. I'm not a Saint but pretty damn close if I do say so. You have to resist the temptation to rip it on the street...keep it legal and safe. Bad things can happen even to good drivers street racing.

I joined a group out of Phoenix that sponsors monthly road racing events. I also joined one of our local Corvette clubs. Besides some of their social events, this group actually runs their Vette's...autocross, drag racing, oval track, etc. Get your need for speed and competition on a track and you'll be far less inclined do it on the street.

Being from Millington, maybe you deserve one pass for mentioning this. I lived there for about 8-9 months back in the early 70s while going to school at Memphis State University.

But as you briefly mentioned, talking about street racing here is a

i sure didnt know it wsnt allowed. i wondered why nobody talked about it. it was a short burst only through 3 rd gear and it was over. really didnt go too fast.

the racing clubs seems it would be hard on the car. the guy i bought it from took it on the track and made 3 passes, told me some impressive times, and he had it dynoed tuned with some cool numbers but i didnt see any print outs so im not going to say them. when it cools off outside im going to take it to the track test and tune and see what i can get out of it.

and thanks for the warning should i remove thread?
