For those of you who have Verts how bad is the road/wind noise with the top up? I like the fact that the coupe is pretty quiet cruising with the top on. Would there be a big difference going to a Vert?
Mine's very quiet with the top and windows up. Maybe not exactly as quiet as the coupe, but very close. Everyone else's opinion is of limited value on subjective subjects like this - my advice is always the same: Drive one yourself and see.
Driving a coupe is nice. You don't know any difference between that and a convertible until you drive a convertible. Then you look for reasons to go for a ride. It's not where you go, it's how your getting there! I've owned a C5 and C6, both were convertibles.
There isn't a wrong choice but you can put the top up and kind of have a coupe. Can't make a coupe a convertible.
Approx half the cars I've owned in my life have been verts. Nothing beats the open air. I still have a Mercedes 500SL in the garage. I had an 07 C6 Coupe for 10 months. The removable top was nice, but it just wasn't the same as a vert. So a few weeks ago I upgraded to a vert. Don't follow my footsteps. Get a vert at the outset!

just a matter of personal preference i've had about 12 vettes my first c5 and c6 were coupesbecause the verts weren't out yet as soon as the verts came out traded the coupes for verts and it certainly was the right move for me if i couldn't put the top down on a nice day it just wouldn'e seem like a vette. sure you can take the top off the coupe but it's not even close to the same
