The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
It's marketing 101. The options have varying levels of profit margin but all higher than the car itself. The more options the more dollar profit. Also, the more margin the more the dealer can back off the msrp to make you think you are getting a good deal. It's always better as seller to start the negotiation higher with room to drop the price and still make mucho dollah.
But while dealers load up the inventory cars we can unload the price pretty quick today.....That $61K coupe, from what I have been reading, should sell today for anywhere from $53K to $55K.
my option picks for 08 are coupe, 2LT,two tone interior, NPP,Z51 and maybe chrome plated forged wheels. this should sticker for about $53K or $54K and I plan to pay $47K or $48K or walk.
Unless I can get an 08 Z06 with a $72K msrp for about $65K this winter. ye ha!

I happen to enjoy some of the 'creature comfort' options. If you're content with a stripped-down version...that's fine...no problem. IMO if you're ordering a new car...order the options you want. Granted, they won't get you any more money when you sell the car but you don't buy a new car to worry about selling it. You buy a new Corvette to drive and enjoy. Get whatever the Hell you like.
