Default Temporary Insanity

After 3 years of owning a C5 and C6 I am trading in the C6 for a BMW
Z4 roadster. Why would I do such a thing? I need a change and I need a cool looking convertible that doesn't look like a Vette and moves slower so I am less likely to take chances with it. I came to my senses that the Vette is not the only car that is cool. I am sick of the power trip and the attitude I have had that more power is better. I am sick of punching it, sick of taking chances with it, sick of waving, sick of people looking over, sick of the aggressive driving, sick of cleaning and polishing it and did I mention I was sick and tired of seeing other Vettes on the road. I am sick about talking about the car and I am sick of people telling me I am crazy for getting rid of it and I am sick about worrying about where to park it. I'm sick of thinking about what year Vette I am going to buy next. Should I get an 08 with 30 more HP or wait for the next generation? should I mod it to keep up with the next guy? It's all BS. It's like a favorite meal that I have eaten over and over again to i'm tired of eating the same thing. The car is so wonderful I am sick of it. God bless all of you. I hope you never get this tired of it and yes I am insane.

WOW ! Maybe you should take the train. Then when you get sick, you can just go to the men's room.

Just kidding. You are insane

Turn off the computer and back away. You need to know how much input you need, and when to walk away.

I'm feeling queezy...

It's all ok... you'll still be washing the bimmer as much as the vette, and yes you'll still get a lot of looks. Enjoy the new car!

And yes the Z4 community still does this

You probably need to see Dr. Phil. Maybe you are off your medicine or need a higher dose or something. Maybe you need a good laxative.

Well I hope you like it. I once had temporary insanity and bought a Chrysler Crossfire. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. You'll be back!

I'm not sick of the forum though. I thoroughly enjoy reading the posts. Did someone say Z5?

Hey, so he's not a Vette guy. No shame with that.

While at the BMW dealer the other day I sat in an M roadster. The cockpit is so snug that it feels like you are wearing the car....VERY nice indeed. Then I saw that the car had a gas guzzler tax, even though it is a timid 330 HP. Hows THAT for German engineering?

Anyway, I thought the M roadster was pretty darn nice. I even thought about getting one for a few seconds, but then the memories of all the problems and all the EXPENSES of my wife's 3 series started to creep in. Then I looked at my 1999 (before I sold it) and realized how crazy it was for me to contemplate not having a Vette.

Good luck with the Bimmer, I'm sure you will enjoy it as it is a nice car.

BMW makes a good product. You'll enjoy the Z4 community for a while. I think you need to let your desires run their course.

Then, one day you'll get IT back. That subliminal need for what America does best - Corvettes.

See you back soon, you can't stay away forever. Don't forget to write down your login name and password somewhere. I didn't and had to get a new password.

I had a black 89 coupe. I went nuts trying to keep it clean. People drove me crazy to let their beauty queens ride in parades in it. I polished that car every other day to keep it looking good. I made a garage queen out of it. I got SICK of it and thought I had a brilliant idea. I sold the car, took the proceeds and built an in ground pool in the backyard. The kids loved it. Friends over all the time. I was the most popular dad in the universe. Now the kids are gone, but the pool is not. My pool cleaners have all moved out but the stupid thing is still out there. What an IDIOT I was.

I have now begun a 2 step program to cure this insanity. Step one is complete....I bought a silver vert. Step two is optional, but is looking real good right about now.....Fill in the pool!!! It's hard to Zaino AND keep a pool clean too!!!!

Yes, the OP is nuts! Just my .02 cents! Enjoy your new ride....but you'll be back!
