I puchased the skip shift eliminator from a forum vendor. I went to install it but it seems it was not that right one. I have a 2007 z51. One end of the eliminator had a blue cap over a white plug and the other end had a black connection which was covered. the instructions that came with it did not say you had to remove anything on the eliminator prior to installation. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

That about covers it. Make sure you disconnect the CAGS connector and not the Reverse lock out solenoid.

Or buy the Predator Tuner. Tunes your car, even if stock and removes the CAGS. Whole process is about 2-3 minutes. You can go back to stock when you service your engine in less than 2 minutes so the dealer won't know that you have tuned your car. When you get home... 2-3 minutes later your tuned. The CAGS light does not appear any longer and your car will run like you kicked it in the a$$...Even if stock. Visit the scan and tune section under the forums.

This plug is high up on the driver's side of the transmission, in the middle part of the transmission lengthwise.

If you have a plug on the bottom driver's side of the transmission, it is the temperature sender (I believe Z51 only). Look for the CAGS plug above this.

On my 2006 the wire even has a factory label on it that said "Skip Shift" or something like that -- left no doubt I had the right wire and right solenoid.
