I think maybe the best answer is a total delete of the entire stereo system. I have never gotten in a car with factory audio and been satisfied with it. With an audio delete at least I'd have some money to put towards a GOOD system.
I want a unit that has no moving parts. Some manufacturer HAS to be making one - an MP3 player that accepts CompactFlash or Sony sticks as its storage media.
Or at least an input jack on the front for a portable MP3 player. Memory cards and portables are such an easy way to stay current and have just what you want available for pounding the pavement...

I have the tape deck & 12 Disk changer. I was cursing the dealer for ordering the CD delete, but I found an MP3 player that will fit into the cassette player. http://www.digisette.com .
I would like a MP3 player option. What the Vette really needs is more interior options. From a very basic interior option to one with all the gadgets.
I have been researching this for sometime; not just MP3 for the new Vette, but as an audio solution. They do currently offer mp3 CD players in the aftermarket, and others have already spoken on the Protoge; and I have seen MP3 stereo options recently when looking at Explorers (2002). I was researching more for an alternative to cutting the dash in older Corvettes (shaft style radios). I found a product called the Neo35, which is a hard-drive based unit that allows you to store TONS of files on a standard hard drive and play it back in the car. I think the unit goes for $500 or so. If anyone is interested, I can try to dig up info and maybe even see about a group purchase. I thought this was the coolest idea since you could keep the factory stereo, there would be no CDs to steal, and it would offer a really stealth system! Hope this helps.
