Default Just ordered 08 to replace 07

Well just ordered an 08 Z51 coupe to replace my 07, I really felt like the changes this year were substantial, looking forward to the LS3, went ahead and added navigation this time too. Will my Corsa sport/ X-pipe from my 07 fit on the 08?

The 08 already has an X pipe so I don't think you'll need to worry about it.

i'm a little pissed now as well. I waited 10 years and FINALLY broke down and purchased a new 2007 in Oct 2006. Little did I know they would roll out a LS3 for the next model year.

Did you folks trade in your 2007?? I have the LT1 package with only 2500 miles. I don't want to get hosed trading it in for a 2008 model......

Default Resale Value?

I Have an 06 Coupe 3LT A6 auto On Star, Nav. and Mag. sel ride with 2300 miles. I went to dealer for an 08 same options plus two tone seats and exhausts. Sticker was @57,000, took 5000 off for 52,000. BUT 33,000 for my trade in. Seems rather steep. I was hoping for closer to 40,000 for mine on a trade. I would go for 12,000 but not 19,000 with my car.

Default who has sense anyways?

Congrats on the upgrade.

I was thinking or ordering or purchasing in Spring of '07 and I'm glad I did some homework and found the '08 was worth waiting 4.

I'm trading my 07 in as well. Like the changes to the 08s. Then I thought, why not go all the way?

Ordered my 08 Z06 a couple of weeks ago!

It's only money. If they put the wide body on next year, 08's will be traded for the 09.

If you have to always have a new one, just do two year leases. Then you are never more than a year away from the latest and greatest. If you don't like the latest and greatest, buy at the end of the lease.

wow i can't imagine owning my car for 1 year then trading it in, for a 1 year newer car. this is just my opinion but that is crazy. people need to drive and enjoy their car. stop reading on these forums about the 2008's and be so compulsive as to buy a 1 year newer car.this isn't a computer it's a freakin car, enjoy it. now if your rich then more power to you, get a vette for every day of the week. what if chevy next year adds 25 hp improves the steering etc.... their will always be something better,newer.....but hey good luck in whatever you do.

The physical differences are pretty nice. How much would it cost you to upgrade your car to an LS3? How about the NPP exhaust? The new trans? Steering? If you buy your vette's cheap enough, the cost is really quite fair considering all of the improvements.

By the way, this is why it is a good idea to buy the base model cars. If you decide to do something like what the original poster is doing, your loss will be at a minimum. A 3LT car is where you will lose the most money at in situations like this. Trade values don't even consider the option packages when determining trade value. A 1LT optioned car has as much trade value as a 3LT car. The only things that show up as added value are clear top, NAV, and the polished wheels. If you have a 3LT with nothing but 3LT (i.e. standard wheels and non transparent top and standard radio) it has the same value in trade as a 1LT car.

No kidding. Take a look at a black book that dealerships use some time.

IMO don't be pissed....there isn't that much difference. Your 2007 shifts and handles fine. If you want a little more horsepower...that's an easy fix (not that the LS3 seems to be significantly faster than the LS2 from what I've read).

You're correct....even if you got the money....it won't matter.

Don't get me wrong...I think the changes to the 2008 are great. I just don't think they're great enough to justify trading-in an earlier model. If someone does, however, that's fine...more power to them.
