Just thought I would share some stats from 07' to put the Corvette in perspective in terms of power among some of the worlds fastest production cars, and some of the Corvettes competition cruising on the American roadways. Of note, many of the BMWs and Mercedes top speeds are governor controlled below 155mph.

Ah the Veyron....I saw a video of a test speed run....the car was accelerating faster than the passenger could call off the numbers on the speedometer. As soon as the car started the guy said "60"...he was at 210 in 'no time.' For $1.5 mil it seems like a good deal to me. I don't know if it's true but I heard a set of tires for the Veyron will run you $12K. I guess if you can afford the sticker price you're not going to be concerned about the price of a set of tires.
