We all know that lifting pucks must be used on C6's. Some people have been using the BMW pucks while others have been using aftermarket pucks.
Considering that GM recommends that the dealer use lifting pucks, I would have to assume that they are part of the "New Model Year" required Dealer Tool package? Has anyone tried to buy the factory pucks through their GM dealer?
I submit BMW jacking pucks (when used on the Corvette) are after-market jacking pucks.
My local dealership didn't have a clue what jacking pucks were and if lift pads even exist at my local dealership, the mechanics certainly aren't aware of them.
I suggest you contact Gene at gmpartshouse.com and inquire about official GM jacking pucks. Let us know if they exist.
I just use hockey pucks. Only cost about 2 dollars and work just fine.
What's a hockey puck...... what's hockey? Yeah, I know... just pokin'. Actually finding a hockey puck on a store shelf down here is about a likey as finding a snow shovel.
I purchased snap-in jacking/lifting pucks from Mid-America several years ago and keep them in place all the time on both my '03 and '05. They are not really visible, and there is peace of mind that should an emergency of sorts arise the pucks are already in place. When jacking them up at home to take off the wheels for major cleaning & detailing I have no concerns about me cracking the rocker area either. A practical, cheap investment.

GM does have a tool part number. Sold in pairs.
My service manager said they are half the thickness of the elite engineering aluminum pucks and don't work properly or safely on their lifts.

Well, it rained here in July, so you're due for some snow!
BTW, I have BMW pucks installed and leave 'em in, although I'm rethinking that after seeing some of the horror stories about unsuspecting lift operators tearing them and rocker panels loose.

No, it's a lot easier to find snow shovels. Try a feed store and ask for a grain shovel. Hockey pucks? No way. I've searched everywhere. And by the time you've paid shipping, the internet price is as much as BMW pucks.
I use some yellow pine blocks. Soft enough to deform and not slip but strong enough to not split.
I paid $14 for my modified hockey pucks on eBay.
Keep them in the car at all times.
They work great...I'm sure there are many other solutions that may work just as well.

You can find them at places like "Play-it-again Sports", etc. Mine cost .99 each. I keep five in each Vette (an extra is always good, right?) and have some in the garage for work at home. Work great.
BMW pucks: I'm not really fond of the rectangular ones so I got the round ones instead. One of them fell out on it's own, tried another one and it fell out too, probably that particular frame slot. Luckily they're not expensive. Oh well.
Aluminum pads: these work fine but I didn't like the fact that they were very smooth, almost too slippery, and I didn't want to take a chance. Those aluminum & titanium finished ones from LAPD look like a better design and are grooved. I also read where someone posted damage that was possibly caused by the round aluminum pads.
Urethane pucks: got these from Ecklers and have been using them ever since. They seem to offer the ease of use and design of the aluminum pucks without any of the drawbacks.
Can y'all tell me the O.D. of the big end of the eye bolt? I bought everything I need to make my own pucks, including the 1/4 in x 3 in eye bolts, but the big end seems too small. It measures 15/16 in.
