Keep a broom and dust pan in the car. You'll evidentually need them to sweep up the pieces!
when I was young I preferred bikes for the simple reason a hi perf bike is cheaper than a hi perf car, they are also much cheaper to repair once you crash them (if you survive). And you will crash. there are two bike riders, those that have crashed, and those that will.
another advantage is when you stop, no helmet hair , and no bugs to floss out of the teeth I always have to laugh when a guy gets off his bike in his spiffy black leathers covered with dead bugs.
OK folks, here's how to really have some fun when this kind of thing happens.
The ****** is doing his thing at the light. You simply look over at the ****** and slug your shoulders and even turn one hand, palm up. Do this as if you're saying, "so what, I don't care". These ******* go nuts when you do this. I've had them start yelling at me acting like full blown idiots, removing any questons about themselves. LOL, have fun!
We have to come up with a name for these fruitless challengers. I am constantly in awe of the grandma in a 10 year old Accord, and the number of F-150's that want a contest. I ignore them, or look at them and shake my head, but sometimes. Not Often but I am, after all, only human.
For once I watched one of those fools get his comeuppance: Two heavily-modded rice burners zigging and zagging thru freeway traffic when one of them simply blows his engine in a huge cloud of smoke! What a beautiful sight to behold!

It is also a site to behold when the zag takes them in-front of an unmarked! Surprise, Surprise!
You have riders that ride as if there is no tomorrow! I have an 05 Yamaha R1 (Raven). I ride for pleasure and recreational purpose. I have a couple of friends that do stunts. I come across riders in the vette and there are challenges, and others that give my tumbs up all I do is give them way. I would not spend my time getting upset with them. They just asking for attention and they get it. I have respect for bikes but not people who abuse them. The hondas, acuras, and others out their want a race I just move to the right and let them go! I don't have time for that non sense! I take that ego stuff to the track to risky out there.
And how are you coming to that totally unfounded conclusion?? The only point made there is that guys like PT, who know nothing about this other then what they read on the internet may not be using the best source of info necessarily. Show me where I am promoting riding like an asshat or that I ever would or do??
PT, you obviously dont understand simple concepts like power to weight ratios. You dont need to take it personally that a 10K bike will lay waste to most any street driven vette. Its simple physics, not a knock on your ego. Your vararam and cam will still get you smoked. If that vette is normally hauled on a trailer to the strip, it'd probably do pretty well. You probably dont have a clue that these bikes are trapping in the 140's stock. You never want to get into a modding contest with one either as they can do it for pennies on the dollar compared to anything on 4 wheels. This assumes not purpose built racing vehicles and riders / drivers with reasonable ability. No need to go on about skill level as thats an apples and oranges deal.
That one comment about blipping at a light to 'scare em off'. That had me on the floor. You folks are good for the entertainment value if nothing else.
Oh boy! You are 100% correct on this! True, but there are situations where the contact patch of a car is superior to that of a bike. BTW, I ride a ZX12R and a Z06...
You bring up a good point. Having both a bike and a Vette, I've noticed that even a moderately quick stock bike will take the stock Vette in a drag race. My totally stock 98 Honda Magna - reasonably quick for a cruiser, but not a fast motorcycle has a 750 cc engine and according to the magazine will run a 12.4 quarter mile, quicker than my stock 06 Vette. The liter and up bikes like yours will do the quarter in less than 10 with a good rider. However, I read a review some years back where a Viper beat a liter bike on a track because of the contact patch and the ability to brake deeper into the curve. My question is, which do you think would go around a moderately curvy track faster, your Z06 or the ZXR?
