8 speed auto trans
i was at the sema show in vegas last week herd from a reliable source that the gear vendor co. is talking with gm to put there overdrive in the c6 that will be 8 speeds forward 40 more rwhp and 60 to 70 more rwtq they had 2002 coupe with it in the guy said it's like a f1 to drive they had a 373 gear in it same mpg like stock with 315 way cool -------------- johnny b [IMG][/IMG] :D

I sincerely doubt it. There's a reason why the four speed auto has been used for so long. A large displacement engine like the ones used in a Vette don't need a whole lot of gears. In fact, an 8 speed tranny would waste a good bit of the engines powerband. Ricers, on the other hand, with their tiny powerband could really use something like that.

The five-speed auto is coming.
There's already a five-speed auto in the pipe for Corvette.
The addition of the overdrive would make it a Ten Speed. No thanks. :)
