Heck, at least you had fun doing it!! Isn't that what these vettes are for?? Having fun?!? Sucks that the motor blew, but at least it blew doing something cool, and not just at a stop light.

What other effects, besides the head & piston?
Did it leave a nasty score/crack in the cylinder?
Not a rebuild candidate?

Looks like preignition/detonation from a lean condition broke the piston,I'm wondering who tuned the engine.

Interesting, so what was in the cylinder? Looks like something let go and ground up a bit on 7, loose bolt or nut? Sorry to hear this.
