Out of all the girls that you've posted with quotes, this one has got to be, by far, the hottest. I just wish it wasn't the quote going into her mouth.
Yabba-dabba-delicious.

Both side mirrors will be pointed more to the side than you're probably used to. You will not be able to see the side of the car unless you lean over. This may seem unnatural at first, but I guarantee you it's much better. You'll get used to it.
With the mirrors adjusted this way, your blind spots will effectively be eliminated. As cars pass you on the left (or right) they will appear in the left (or right) side mirror before they disappear entirely from the rear-view mirror.
This is how the CHP adjusts their mirrors, and it's very effective.
I just stumbled on this post and, you are so right about it getting rid of any blind spots. Glad to know the CHP approves of the way I've been doing this for years.
First, when backing up, you should be looking over your shoulder and/or doing shoulder checks.
You cant see the wheel nor the fender looking over your shoulder. So adjusting the mirror to see more away from the car and not skinning it is wrong!
Second, you can use properly-adjusted mirrors to check clearance when backing-up alongside a curb, too. Just lean over a little.
And you can see a "blind spot" also by just leaning over a little bit too right?
Third, if you need your side mirrors to avoid clipping stuff while driving a short-wheelbase passenger car in the forward direction, it's time to hand in your license.
What do mean? Then why put them on the car if that was the case?
You'd be surprised how many people scrape things with "short-wheelbase passenger cars". Obviously you dont live in NYC where you have to hump double parked cars with only an inch of clearance on each side of the vehicle. So using your mirrors the way you suggest I am sure you'd be buying front fenders, door skins and rear quater panels in bulk if you were to drive in a suburban area!
And dont even say silly things like backing down the street when you have 50 cars behind you. And looking down the block before you enter it is useless since the car that was in front of you is the one who decided to double park in the first place.

I am looking for a solution.
Thanks for any input.
If you will following these instructions you will eliminate the blind spot.Lean over toward drivers door glass put 3 fingers next to glass touch side of head to fingers adjust mirror just so you can barely see side of car now lean over to the middle of the console and adjust the passenger mirror to just barely see side of car.Adjust the inside mirror to look out the center of back glass. Go for a test drive on the freeway traffic coming up in rearview should disappear and and appear in side mirror basically you will watch as they are leaving and appearing at the same time. As they disappear in side mirror look out door glass and they are beside you. This procedure is in a class called arrive alive at 55.
