I agree with the ones that say "just give them room". I've been driving in Houston for 38 years and like any big city, there are everywhere. I see stupid car tricks everyday. Dont' forget to throw in the 80 mph wheelstanding crotch rockets too.
One thing I do notice on my way to work, usually around 5:30 AM, is the number of F250 type trucks going at least 10 mph faster than everyone else. (well, besides the large muffler, small cars)
For some reason, and this is just my theory, when a person buys a huge thing like those trucks, it must seem to the person driving, that 85 mph looks like 65 mph. They just think everyone else is going 45.
Why is everybody so quick to call the cops. My advise is live and let live. It is not my job to police the city/ highway. You drive the way you want, don't damage my property or family. If you damage my property you will pay with $$$, if you damage my family then the police is the least of your problems. You see all these people on T.V. talking about a loved one getting killed or abused and they want the system to fix the problem. I say if a good number of citizens gave the criminals what they had coming crime rates would go down. The criminals get to hide behind their civil rights (court appointend attorneys) after they have already violated someone elses. In my book you lose your civil rights when you violate mine. JMHO
Why? Just because someone passes on the sholder does not mean DUI. A jerk yes, DUI probably not. If everyone in the US called 911 everytime they witnessed a reckless driver it could keep other people from getting help that need it.
Aside from that, what do you think the cops are going to do? Send out a search for the guy? If there happens to be a unit on that road at that time he *might* do something, other than that nothing will happen anyway.
Is your advise for everyone on this board to cal 911 everytime they see a reckless driver? What about speeding? Where is the line drawn? That is NOT what 911 was intended for, and depending on the city and time, might keep someone from getting help that really needs it. JMHO.....do what you want.
I see your point. I would not call unless I truly thought the person was DUI.
I have been driving vettes for 10 years, not as long as some but long enough to experience as we all probably have the strange behavior it brings out in other drivers. This weekend I experienced a new low in jerk off behavior. I am driving on a highway with 2 lanes in each direction. At about 60 t0 70 MPH Varies becau se there are cars in front of me in each lane. This guy in an F250 is riding my *** for about 5 miles. All of the sudden he punches it and passes me and the 2 cars in front of me on the dirt shoulder next to the alluminum crash rail dividing the highway. He then procceeds to dissapear down the road at about 100mph. Besides the fact that he kicked up crap all over the other cars on the road and endagered about ten peoples lives, he didnt even have the ***** to hang around but ran off like a little Bit**. What the hell is wrong with people??
Dont sweat the small stuff...sooner or later he will either wind up killing himself or end up in a ditch...hopefully before he hurts or kills someone else. I think the best advise given here is to give as much room for these morons as possible. There would be no better feeling than seeing them run off a high bridge..that would make my day
It's not worth the huff and puff over it, there are alot of @$$hole$ out there and just gotta deal with them. In that senario, I would have pulled over and let him go no harm done on my part. I've done that many times in the vette I don't drive like an old fart mostly 10-15 over speed limit. I don't waste my time on people I have other stuff to worry about!
Yep, even here on the Central Coast there are too many fools behind the wheel.
In the Vette one day on the 101 in SLO a guy in a rice bucket did exactly what happened to you. Except, his acceleration was laughably slow. He had cut inf ront of me, then dropped back behind me, before deciding HE was king of the road by passing everyone in sight.
It so funny when loud noise and little else happens when they floor some of these slammed Hondas and Toyotas.
Another day, a guy in a beat up mini pickup thought I was going too slow on twisty Los Berros road. I was at the 40MPH speed limit.
He proceeds to pass me on a totally blind curve over a double yellow!
Well, guess he showed me!

the F-250 driver is posting on the Ford Truck Forums "how he passed a corvette using the shoulder of the road".....
Yep, North Dakota is where all the sharp minds go. Probably the reason the entire states GDP is less than Houston's.
Highest graduation rate in the country and consistently in the top 3 (several times #1) in standardized testing in math and reading. I do agree with you, a lot of sharp minds up here. Per capita we have the most millionaires than any other state.

Yes, and Texas has a higher per capita income than North Dakota. Maybe you can help me figure this out..... ND has the highest per capita of millionaires, yet a lower per capita income than a state full of people who don't know their right from their left, and whose largest city has an average IQ of 70. What does that say about the rest of the people who live in ND?

Ok lets now take into account the cost of living and whos ahead now?
