Can anyone post up some trunk shots from a C6 convertible with the
roof down as I am trying to answer luggage space / dimension questions?
The folks on the C5 Forum already helped out big time with that model,
so I'm hoping you guys can too.
Thanks in advance!

Here are shots - carpet out in prep for insulation:

Top up or top down...does not matter. The partition still stays in the same place.
Soft luggage fits best. If for some reason your luggage is hard and an inch too big, you will be out of luck.
It can also fit 1 set of golf clubs. Not a large pro leather bag, but one that us everyday golfers uses.
Dimensions of the opening...

The inside is wider then the opening, so luggage can fit under the lip of the trunk.
As you can see the inside width is about 10 inches wider then the opening.

Inside height...not too tall...hence the need for soft luggage.

Yeah the marketing material says that, but have you actually tried to get two golf bags in the back of C6? I have and it no worky unless both bags are smaller than average.Originally Posted by jcurley290

I have two simple carry bags that fit in my '07 convertible no problem. They are full-size bags, just not the super-deluxe ones with all the pockets, straps and attachments. Check your sporting goods stores and pro shops and you'll find bags that will fit OK.

I'm guessing you have a power top. My 06 with manual top has 34" of depth where you show 18". I do not have this partition. The depth from the floor of the trunk to the roof tonneau is reduced with the top down but you can still slide a garment bag under the top with no damage to the top.Originally Posted by rumtum

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
ExploreHello,
I stumbled on the posts above and wondered if you could clear something up for me- I'm hiring a Corvette C06 Convertible (I think with the power top) later this year
, and I need to make sure that the luggage I bring will fit in the trunk. I'll likely be bringing two soft holdall type bags, and then possibly have a couple of small day packs to find a home for too. The photos above with the dimensions are very helpful - I think I'm going to build a demo trunk on my floor so I can check the kit will fit! But my questions are:
1) Is there any space at all between the floor of the trunk and the partition where the roof is stored in a power top version?
2) I see there are two pockets in the rear part of the trunk - how big are those? I guess I might be able to unload some kit into those.
Cheers,
C

Very little, if I remember correctly, but I'll go down and measure it. It also depends if the convertible top is up or down. Down there's less. With the top up, it tapers to zero for 12" but starts closest to the back end of the car at about 7".
2) I see there are two pockets in the rear part of the trunk - how big are those? I guess I might be able to unload some kit into those.
Not sure what you mean by "pockets"? Are those the two trap doors in the floor; if so, yes, they do hold some things? I'd say they're about 11.5"Wx6.5"Lx9"D (just checked). But remember: all things sitting on the trunk floor and especially in these two "pockets" get very, very warm! So don't put anything that can't take it, like aerosol cans.
Cheers,
C

Thanks very much for the information and for going and measuring (and for the very quick reply)! Sounds like I'd better ignore any space there might be under the partition when packing - would be a real shame not to be able to get the roof down... Can't wait to get out to California!
Thanks also for the note about the heat in the trunk - will bear that in mind...

You're welcome! We try to assist all our Corvette brethren, from near and far! Enjoy the trip and have a safe drive.

The trunk dimensions provided in this piece were perfect. Going to pick up a C5 convertible in Florida and trying to guide my spouse on how to pack efficiently! Thanks to all.

When we are packing for a long trip, I lay a piece of white string down the middle of our Coupe trunk. My wife can put anything she wants on the right side, and I can put anything I want on the left.Originally Posted by scspyder

In warm weather, I also require that the load be low enough to allow storing the targa top in the trunk.
You need to establish the rules early in the game...

I didn't see it mentioned but here's a little info regarding the partition in the power top models. You can put the partion down to have more space, but there is a switch that will not let you put the top down without the partion in place. Helps prevent ya from braking things.
Now if they would just come up with a switch for a coupe that won't let you put the car in drive when you have the removable top in place, but not latched. It'd save some tears too

I made a removable luggage rack for my C6 some time ago (Zero holes drilled in trunk). You can see it in my avatar pic. It should be easy enough to modify the mounting straps to fit a C5 trunk. Been trying to get my hands on an inexpensive C5 trunk locally to where I live so that I can make the strap length adjustment.
My C6 does not have the partition. Is the partition for power tops only? Mine is manual.
Can someone post a pic of the lower installation.
I purchased one, but the upper holes do not line up, and I am not sure how it connects on the lower front of the trunk.
Thanks in advance,
Steven

2013 power vert top. I can fit a 10X10 folding canopy, two large folding chairs, two small folding tables, a duffel bag with clothes, a detail bag, and a cooler all in my trunk when I go to Carlisle. That's with the top and partition both up.
