Too loud! I put them on my VY Z51 Coupe because they were a lot quieter than the Borla Stingers I had on my 2002 Z06. I loved the Borlas, just a tiny bit too loud.
These American Thunder Flowmasters are quiet on the inside and sound great on the outside. They just don't shake the neighborhood like the Borlas did.
I think they sound best on Velocity Yellow cars too!

Agreed. Flowmasters sound the best, much better then others 2 or 3 times the cost. I've used Flows in my LT1, LS1 Birds and Vette and love the muscle car sound. Personally, I think the NPP sounds bitchy, but understand how most would be happy who don't want (or can't handle) true muscle car sound.

How difficult to install these Flowmasters?
Can these Flowmaster mufflers be installed without cutting original pipes on a C6? Require welding? Is it a DYI install for week-end mechanics?

Thanks for this posting. I just order these today for my 2008 C6 M6 and had some concerns on the sound. Listened to the YouTube vids and just hope mine sounds like this.

Would like to hear them. Mine's coming with the stock exhaust, debating between SLP powerFlo and Flowmaster. Prolly go with Flows, but want to hear first on the LS3. Can U post a Sound Clip? Thx.

What about performance
I have FM #17427 on my 05 Z51 6mn along w/ a Vararam & spacer & I love the sound. Problem is I plan on adding cam, Kooks 1-3/4 3x3 x-pipe & a 160 stat, the tuner I have discussed this with swears Flowmaster's are going to rob 10-15hp. I know we all love the way they sound, but does anyone have performance comparison or dyno #s.

I had the Flowmaster 17427 quad tips installed on my car on Monday. A friend of mine installed them and he had a real rough time with installing the right (passenger side) exhaust. Right now the right side is a little uneven compared to the driver side. Did anyone else experience this at all? He told me he would take a second look at it. It really bothers me that it's a little uneven. It looks like the right side needs to be pulled over more to the driver side. I love the sounds though, very muscle tone like and throaty.

Quick Question - anyone have them on the A6 Tranny?
I'm ready to Buy - Just curious how someone with that Tranny feels.

I had the system on my '05 A4 and now my '08 A6. In both cases the installer got them on so the tips are perfectly alligned and even.
I have noticed a bit more drone in the '08 vs. '05, but it doesn't bother me, and seems to be quieting down as they are broken in.

08 a6 here with standard rear gear.
Love everything about them except 2 things. Passenger side over-axle is do-able but first time getting it in is not fun. You have to keep playing/trying and it will go in and mine lined up fine but first time was frustating. Only other negative is they really resonate on highway at cruising speed under load.
In every other situation I like them better than anything else I've heard.
If they would only make a bimodal with current sound open and close to stock closed (or just eliminate the one situation of drone) it would be perfect

Do you think I can realign the passenger side without putting it back on the hoist?? I felt like taking a rubber mallet and banging it over, it is bothering me more and more every time i look at..

I took mine back to have mine realigned(in order to put on the exhaust filler panel.) The guy had to loosen the bolts and use his weight to shove the one crooked one... It could be done w/o a hoist, but he did have to use some considerable force... Banging on them with a mallet could cause damage if over done...

My right is a little crooked right now as well. Don't know if it's a loose hanger or slip fit connection. I haven't been able to get to a muffler shop and it's driving me crazy!
It still sounds good though!
