Out for lunch the other day, I parked my car next to an area of mulched landscaping. 10 minutes into my lunch I looked outside and noticed smoke billowing up next to my car. I went out to investigate expecting to find a lit cigarette or something in the mulch, but what I found was the sun reflecting off my polished aluminum wheels which was focused onto the mulch causing it to catch on fire.
Has this ever happened to you?

Did you party at lunch.. First off, GM polished wheels are too milky to be reflective..
I doubt your wheels set anything on fire.. reflecting sunlight won't do it
Many moons ago, I installed a 115 gallon propane tank on back of my truck. Filled it one day and parked it in driveway (in sun all day). I also had a 4 inch 'crystal ball' on front seat. That thing burnt a hole in front seat. Good thing seat just smoldered. Had it really caught fire, they would still be picking up pieces of that house. (Ball was made of clear plastic; I thought it was cute; got rid of it that day.)
As milky as my polished wheels are they couldn't light a **** ant's cigarette.
They suck compared to my C5's polished wheels (which still wouldn't have ignited anything...)
Living in AZ, every hot summer one of the local TV stations try to fry an egg on the pavement or the hood of a car. Never works. Urban myth.
I'm not calling the OP , but I'm calling the evaluation of the situation
Of course, considering Al Gore won a Peace Prize for Global Warming, you might want to let him know of a new phenomena! Corvette wheels contribute to global warming!
