I have never turned my any of my vehicles over to a pimply-faced hyped-up moron, excuse me, I mean valet person, and hope I never have to.
It's bad enough at the dealership service dept. when the lot boy stands on the throttle when moving your car from one side of the garage to the other. Grrr.
Valet service? I think not.
Hahah glad they don't pay you to think.... love vette owners like you.
As a kid in high school in Jersey many years ago, I did a summer parking cars at one of the local resturants. Believe me when I say...Do Not valet your vette. Most of the time you can pay/tip a little extra to leave it up front and keep the fob with you.
I valet all the time. It is just a car. When the return the car we take a walk around it to make sure it is the way I gave it to them. No problems so far and it has been valet over 100 times all over the country.
You know what to do. If its only a car like some say use the valet. If its your hobby and a show car, its your baby which some people believe, you probably won't valet unless you can park it yourself and keep the fob. I guess some fall in the middle and if so flip a coin. I know which type I am but will keep it to myself because its OK as long as you drive a vette.
There is only one location that I frequent that has or use Valet Parking. I do not have ANY problems with these young men parking and retriving my Vette.
Let me assure you though, I do ensure that they know the correct way to start and turn off the car.
It all depends on the location and the quality of the people.
People are attracted to 'hitting' my cars in parking lots. There isn't a chance in hell I'd ever turn over one of my cars to some fool making $6.85 per hour plus tip. Fact is people lie to cover there *** and if everyone at the Valet service denies anything happened to your car, yet something HAS happened. What recourse do you really have?
Around here it is a pretty boring car. Too many Ferrari's, Lambo's Bugatti's and other exotics for a C6 to attract much attention or excitement.
It all depends on where you live. Mine is a daily driver w/11K on the clock. No special treatment necessary.
I've noticed in my trips to Arizona every other sports car is a Vette or 350Z. But at the same time, Ferrari's and Lambo's aren't exactly 'wowing' people anymore either. In fact I've found Lotus Elise's tend to attract the most attention.
Don't know about other states, but in Calif there were a few incidents with Valet Parking were the guys were joy riding in the customer cars, getting in accidents and then retuning the car to the parking lot. Turns out the owner was responsible for damages, not the driver.

Being new to Corvette Territory, I am wondering how to handle the occasional situation requiring valet parking like at restaurants, hotels etc. I never had a car like this and I would hate to always leave it home and use my other car. It happened this weekend and I wound up paying the valet side money for the privilege of parking my own car. Please let me know what you do. Thanks!!!
I don't do Valet parking with the 911 and won't with the 'Vette either....with the Sonata...yes.
I took my girlfriend to, what I consider, the nicest restaurant in Houston and they had complimentary valet...I said no thanks and parked it myself a little further down and we walked up.
Well it's a good thing we did.
As we come up a couple gets out of a brand new CTS-V and the valet pops in and takes off with brakes screaming because he didnt take the parking brake off.

My dads car was valet parked once and he got his car back with his gas-can in his trunk completely spilled...and it was strapped down VERY well, so you know it was beat on hard.
