Now just take it easy. This is beginning to remind me of the "LS3 with Displacement on Demand" by 1k.

Get a grip. This is an isolated incident. Yes, look over your cars but c'mon, it's not the flying roof or DBS syndrome.

unitll it happens to me, then I'll call out the troops, talk to Mitt, Rudy, Hillary and anyone else.....

Really, this has drifited off the chart.

Im still going with a hose or metal fuel line popping off from poorly connected in the hopes it's not a defective tank which could be a real mess.
Also the OP stated a fireman looked underneath with a flashlight and saw the tanks/tank split, can you really see the fuel tanks that easy without a being lifted?
Im sure the fireman wanted to be helpful but he may not be spot on with his diagnosis

I was really hesitant to get in on this but everyone has to realize most of their gas fear is Hollywood generated where everything blows to smithereens. Yea I know; you all know someone who saw it blow to the moon. Biggest thrill is watching the crowd when a tire finally blows and they poop their pants. Dont worry about it ; thats why you have insurance. Had an 06 and love my 08! Just this one story. Had a nosey driver stop and came to ask questions about the line down ; he stopped right on top of a road flare under his gas tank. We didn't even tell him; waited for something to happen and damn nothing at all. How disappointing. Anyway sick firehouse humor. Everybody relax and enjoy their cars, I am.:o

The plastic fuel tanks are MUCH better. They don't generate rust that gets into your fuel system and eventually corrode completely through and leak.

do you have enemies?

seriously... going through a tough divorce, owe someone big money?

as an example, in the past, i have taken a plastic fuel container that was sealed to an all day bike event wherein the temps got up over 100 degrees around the track. sealed container, plastic sits out in that sunlight. i never considered it might exploded. and it had to be seriously vented before I could open the business end with the funnel tube going down into the fuel ans the fuel would spray out off the opening as you started to unscrew it..

now this container was i'm assuming much less tougher than a gas tank. and yet on a 40 degree day, after 10 minutes of driving it splits a seem with an 'explosion' type sound.....

some sort of something attached to the bottom of the car before you started out or some even more evil device put into the tank with a timer or radio reciever....

just sayin...

Since we keep drifting off topic I'll tell a story too. When I was around 12 I had a Honda 70 dirt bike. The exhaust had a big split right by my leg and one day the floats must have stuck because a stream of gas came out of the overflow and caught on fire. I had most of a tank of gas and all I could think about was the tank exploding while I sat on the bike. Needless to say I dropped the bike and ran away (probably screaming like a little girl). The bike simply fell over and kept burning until all of the wires and rubber was toast. I was a couple hundred feet away waiting for the explosion that never happened.

From the Law Offices of James D. Sucksalot:
"We aretrying to contact all early 2008 JSB owners. You may be entitled to a new car under the Lemon Law Act. We are currently gathering information in preparation of a class action lawsuit. If you have been traumatized, a victim of hysteria, or suffered E.D. due to sleepless nights worring....

Hey Kali9934, who started this thread, what's happening with the tank?
Surely the dealer has looked at it by now and has diagnosed the problem. Feedback?
