Ya, I guess. Honestly though, I still like the vette better. The AMG is just ok to me.

P.S. I drove a Z at carmax a couple weeks ago. Bad idea.

The AMG is an awesome car. I was looking at those before I got my C6. IMHO it is too expensive and heavy, but you'd be kidding yourself if you thought they are slow.
I never got people who think their car is god's own chariot... Get over it; there will ALWAYS be someone who is faster than you, and if you drive a stock car, even a Corvette (gasp!) there will always be a lot of people with faster rides than you

I've always driven fast cars (Had a C5 Z06 before my C6, and 2 highly modded STIs before that) and when I race I enjoy losing as much as I like to win; I already know how fast my car is, I like to see what other people have done to theirs to get it to go fast.

You are absolutely right, I forgot what forum this was. What the hell is wrong with you people. We should be talking about how much we love and think "God's own chariot" is a BMW, MB or an Audi.

I can respect and understand if you have strong appreciation for other cars, but telling people ON THIS FORUM that they should "get over" thinking their car (any car, but in this case our beloved C6's) is the greatest car out there is talk and you should seek professional help.

AMG huh. A guy was in one behind me this morning getting on Dallas North Tollway. He thought he was going to cut me off by crossing the double white line and pass on the left which would have boxed me on the entrance ramp with the right wall. Don’t know what the phug he was thinking, but it didn’t happen. HAIL, my office is in Addison and so is my yellow on occasions.

anyone who thinks a nice car is what gets the hot girl more than likely doesnt have the hot girl no matter what hes driving. 90 percent of the vette guys on here have cars without a single mod because they can barely afford the payment of there 1lt model. thinking driving a vette makes it look like you have money is insane. drive a 2007 murciealago then you have a point

Kinda interesting how the unorthodox races always take place on unnamed "closed courses".

An LS3 would have pulled that AMG @ Top End.

Thanks. I may be a bit older (36) than some of the posters here. But I had a C5Z06 and I have an E55. I can tell you, family sedan or not, that three pointed star gets lots of attention from the ladies around here. But in the NY metro area, the line up of wannna-be trophy wives stretches pretty dang far.

Women were more forward and chatty when I was in the Z, but the attention I get in the MB is greater hands down.

Not knocking either car, just pointing out that my personal observations are a bit different. And I was married with two kids before I had either car, and too young for a mid-life crisis, so the babe-magnet factor was not at all important to me.

Anyway - there is always something faster. Drive safely.

Well, I"m a bit older than that (and still married with children) and stand by my original statement that most chicks would not know what that car was but they damn sure know what the vette is. Of course where you're at things are a little bit different than down here and I kinda like it like that. Nice car, just not my style.

Glad I'm in the other 10%! I had mine in pieces within 1 week of buying it brand new!

Gotta agree with the other poster though, hot cars DEFINATELY attract women...well at least the kind of women I like. Now if I was single I'd be loving the car even more but I have the car because it suits my demands for a car.

Are you serious? Wait, let me see if I got this right:
Just because we are in the C6 forum, we must all think that the C6 is the ultimate end-all to automotive performance, can never be beaten by any car, and to think otherwise means I am insane and need help?

Wow... Man, you need to find a little more in your life than just your car... Self confidence maybe? An ego? A woman?
Do I think the C6 is the best value for the money? Sure, I bought one last week (2006 C6 Z51 2LT MN6).
Is it the fastest car out there? Absolutely not. The best handling? Nope. The lightest? Definitely not. The best interior? Ahahhaha. No. Hell, if you want to keep the subject on just being "fast", anyone with a couple grand to blow modding a Mustang 5.0 or even a crappy gutted civic with a prelude engine swap and a turbo kit can come up with something faster than our beloved C6s. And if you have the money, a lot of exotics and not so exotic cars like the AMG will walk it too.
Get real. Its a great value for the dollar, its a great car, I will even concede that it is the best car *I* personally have ever driven, but it is still just a mass produced car with all the compromises that come with making something under a fixed budget. I got one because it was the best I could afford, but rest assured that given a much larger budget I could buy a much better car.
Enjoy what you have but don't lose touch with reality there I sure as HELL hope the C6 isn't the best car in the world, otherwise what on earth would i have to look forward to at age 25?

I think power labs said it all ,vettes are cool but a far cry from the best . Heres a example , a fully loaded bmw 335 i with 300hp has quality to spare , holds its value , is 10,000 cheaper and is faster then a c6 , and u can drive it in the rain and snow .

the 335 i is a very good car but no way faster than a c6. It turns 13.6 1/4 miles. Even the new m3 is not faster than a c6
