Vettes are made to be driven?

Oh, I figured it out long time ago...
When I left the corporate world 15 years ago I gave away every suit, every tie, and every sports coat I owned. In winter I wear sweat shirts, in summer t-shirts. So, a tux? Ha!
Owning four sets of china, yes, I do eat off my best china everyday, whether it's a well-crafted rollatini or a hot dog.
Insofar as drinking my best scotch every day the answer is YES. I only drink ONE scotch period: Lagavulin 16
Watch? Have worn Heuers for 35 years (LONG before they were popular)
Jewelry? Just the watch, which I never take off.
I lost my two best friends at 23 in Nam, my two later best friends when each of them were still below 60, and I had a heart attack at 58.
So, yes, I drive my Corvette daily - in all kinds of weather - '07 C6 - 21600 miles - 14 states in the C6 and counting: 45 of the lower 48 in Corvettes - I have more than 400,000 miles in C4s, more than 40K in C5s...
Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain.

Life is not a dress rehearsal. Ya gotta do it right the first time, there's no second chances. Savin' all your good stuff for the next guy to enjoy just doesn't get it, for me.
If folks want to spend big bucks on a Vette just so they can look at it sit in their garage's, that their business.
We bought that beauty to drive and enjoy every possible minute we can. We're planning a cross country trip and looking forward to driving the Vette every mile of the way.
This car was designed and built to drive.

I'm not sure I had a problem, I was just asking. I've still never pushed the blue button, nor will I. I think the service is a waste of $$$. Whether they can track you or not without pushing the button for the first time, who knows.

This is my first Corvette, AKA "Ramona", (replaced a 2005 Mustang GT) it's also my daily-driver. I don't have room in my garage to maintain a "Hanger Queen." It's all I can do to fit the two cars (2007 Corvette, 2007 Dodge Charger-Daytona AKA "Ramone") and motorcycle (2006 Buell Ulysis) in there now. We do have a 2002 Explorer that lives outside and gets used, for the lack of a better term, for the "Utility" part of Sport-Utility - It's the crappy weather vehicle, dog, and lumber hauler, etc. I'm sure it's jealous of the vehicles that live in the garage. Anyway, I love this Corvette, the more I drive it, the better I like it. I've had it about a month now and have about 700 miles on her.

For me it is about balance. I don't want to drive my vette too often because I don't want the experience to become ordinary. When I get in and drive I want that feeling of holly $*&% , I forgot what this was like. I drove my C5 a whole bunch one month and remember that it started to feel like I was just driving a car. I realized I wasn't driving it in the right "fun" conditions and too often.
One lesson I learned playing guitar is that silence between notes is just as important as the notes played. When there are well placed 'rests' in a song, the following notes are emphasised and stand out. I want my vette driving experiences to stand out.
Variety also provides us with the ability to compare one thing against another. If I really want that race car feeling I drive my pickup for a while then jump into the vette... what an awesome contrast..
With all that said.. I don't care what the odometer says. I will drive for fun as often as I can but not so much that it becomes ordinary or in common point A to point B commuting, like driving to work.
Since I have been in China for 2 weeks (well placed "rest"), wishing I had my vette with me so I could show them cabbies how to really drive...I am off this morning to a club drive... can't wait.....

I bought my '06 in April last year and only have 6,000 miles on her. THe only reson that there isn't more miles is with only 24 hours in day its tough to share time between the vette, my two other rides, the Harley and my boat...

Yes, Corvettes are made to be driven, but mileage shouldn't be the biggest measure of any owner's "committment" to the Corvette experience. I jump in mine whenever I can (3rd vehicle) but it isn't as much as I like.
I once read on this forum the simple statement, "If you can afford it, you can use it any way you want--to heck with anyone who tells you how much you're enjoying your C6."

All of you folks that complain about others with garage queens can say what you will but what baffles me even more is those owners that put very few miles on the car and turn around and trade up after a year or two for a car in the same generation that really doesn't change much.
To take the glass half full on this one, better to at least keep the garage queen and look at it than trade up for minimal model year changes and really waste money. Although I'm sure GM doesn't mind one bit

i have two corvettes, an 08 and an 85. my 85 is the heavy hitter daily driver, but i do drive my 08 every chance i get. i put almost 4000 miles in it in 11 or 12 weeks since i got it, but, sorry to say, the 08 as well as my 85, are both put away for the winter. during the driving season, i usually put around 12K miles between the two. as corney as this sounds, a day without driving a corvette is like a day without sunshine. i've got a bunch of maintenance work to do on the 85 this winter - working on them is almost as much fun and driving them.

by the way, be glad because the economy depends on the auto industry more than you realize.

A Big “HELLO” from Forest Hill, Maryland.

....maybe you should try it. They are all just things that get old and out of style sooner or later. I would rather enjoy life on a daily basis and yes my vette is my DD

I don't get it either. These cars are just way too much fun NOT to drive. Everytime I have to drive my work/winter truck I am longing to be driving my vette!!
And life is too short NOT to be driving a Corvette!
