I don't mind mine at all. I like it, but then I didn't buy the car for the sound package.

Bose System is GARBAGE!
After 30 days in my fully loaded 07 C6 coupe, I coudn't be more dissappointed with the Bose Sound System. What a waste of money!
My ford pick-up with the Audiophile option blows it away...what's up with that!
CD quality is marginal at best and the XM must be running through the entire electrical system of the car.
I guess in retrospect, I would have forgone the NAV and bought an after market system complete.
Many have stated it here but I'm one of those that has to find out for myself.
Take my advice...don't spend the money on the Bose.
Outside of that I love this car and it is my daily driver with the expectation of around 15K a year in mileage.

Bose does lack a clean, crisp, open sound, highs do not exist, midrange is heavy, and any bass is just a thumping sound.

I'm not an audiophile, I actually don't think it's garbage. To each his own I guess, but yeah if I could I'd probably change the whole system.

Bose is awful.I had the whole thing removed and installed a JL system . The differance is night and day. Now I have killer sound thats fitting for such a great car. Check out the audio section those guys are helpful and will give you good ideas.

in the 08 there is a low volume interference noise - almost inaudible unless the engine is off and the volume is very very low. Other than that the acoustics are quite good. I hear a full natural sound. What do you want? Overblown lows or highs? That is not good sound but to each his own.

If you Ford pickup can accelerate, handle, brake or look as good as your C6, then complain about the Bose stereo. 
Garbage? I guess I'm just not that much of an audiophile. While I agree the Bose stereo could be better, no complaints from me...it suffices for my purposes. I'm more into how my car sounds rather than how my stereo sounds.

I rarely listen to music other than the great C6 sounds.
But when I want to hear the Beach Boys or Jan & Dean, I would like them to sound clean and have reasonable fidelity --- as they do on other automotive stereo systems.
I agree that I did not buy a C6 for the stereo, but there is no excuse for GM to use one of the lower-performing systems in this great car. The C6's stereo doesn't need to be commensurate with all its other features, but with today's technology there is no reason to stick with Bose or not force Bose to upgrade itself.
It is queer that a professor from MIT would want such sounds to come from stereo systems that carry his name.

People that want a decent sounding stock system buy a Mustang, people that want to listen to a different type of nice tune buy a Vette. Bose isn't the best but it sure isn't the worst stock system out there. I love their home theater systems though. Maybe GM didn't give them enough money to design a good system.

I agree that the Bose system sucks compared to most systems I've heard in modern cars (including my Durango, R/T Charger, etc.). Even one of my co-workers stock system in his Impala sounds better! WTF?
Say what you want about "just listen to the engine", I do plenty of that, thank you, the point is that we are buying Chevy's flagship vehicle and with everything they've put into this car to make it great, the let a big brand name stereo company rip them off with garbage! If bose was putting everything they should be putting in this system, it would sound good. It's obvious that Bose doesn't care about what they are putting thier name on and are just making money on this system. I would glady pay an extra grand or 2 for a high quality system (or one that is at least tolerable).
I hate the fact that my Z stickers at $78K but doesn't have a stereo of some of chevys 20K cars....
