Had patch and plug in rear runflat 9000 miles and now losing 1lb a week.
Is it possible to re patch a patch?
I got a nail in mine and the shop told me that it is now illegal to patch a runflat. Since I knew I that I was not going to go with runflats again, i went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered BFG NT's. They should arrive at the end of the week. If I were you, I wouldn't take a chance.
I just picked up a roofing nail and it was on a Sunday where all repair shops were closed. Since I had a plug kit which I have for conventional tires, I plugged the GY run-flats, I took the car out on a cruise and even did a high speed run with no problems.
It is correct that due to liability some tire shops just flatly refuse to fix a flat tire.

That may be true as their reason, but Run Flat GY's can be repaired and retain the speed rating (one repair) per the GY website. I have had two tires repaired with no issues - both done at GY shops. If I were in your position, I would take my "temporarily repaired" tire to GY and have it fixed right - under warranty if the tire is < 1 year old.
Buy a NAPA Tire Repair Kit #710-1028 and plug the tire youself. I have plugged road race tires with it and driven them up to 210 MPH. I have a plug in one of my rear C6Z tires now that has been in for about 6,000 miles. The kit has a gun in it and a mushroom plug so the air in the tire seals the plug. The gun puts the plug into the tire and when you pull the gun out the plug stays in. Cut as much rubber off of the plug as you can and you are ready to air up and go!
You are correct, the patch has an integrated plug. Just the plug alone is not permitted by most ins carriers (shop liability).
I have had 2 different incidents on the same tire...local GY store did a excellent job with both plug/patch repairs. Both under GY warrant, total cost $ 0 !!
