I can not get mine universal home remote that came in my 07 to work i have try everything. i have the fixed code garage door opener before 96 they are the dip switches. i had no problom with my 05 work great but can not get it to work with my 07. any ideal what i can try
I had older garage door openers as well....couldn't get them to work with the car2u system in my 07....it was very annoying.....wound up just getting new openers....good luck
Do i have to change the motor on the garage door also if i get new openers
I put 2 new units in....not just new remotes....motors and all....it's the main unit (motor) that receives the signal from the car....as pipedreams said, go to their site....you may get it to work....
i have posted before that you must release all 3 buttons at the same instant or it will not lock on to the opener. i used a small piece of wood to push and release all 3 buttons together and after 2 days of trying all the suggestion from lear my way worked.
Actually, If you call the number for Lear Car2U that is in the manual (I think it is 866-572-2728) and tell them your garage is not compatible, they will send you an adapter free of charge.
I did this and got the adapter in about 5 business days. It was pretty easy to hook up and now my garage works.
I even got them to add a receiver to my community gate so now I can use the Universal Home Remote to open the gate to my community, but the damn maintenance crew keeps messing with it so it..
Anyway, good luck. Hope this helps!

try programming it first the "new" way, and then the old way. I have a (now) 14 year old Sear garage door opener with their old remotes. it worked fine for me after I got up on the ladder to push some button up on top. mine's an '08 and I think they changed something, but I did the modified, old homelink method of synching up the door opener remote while holding the button on the visor. see if it works.
