They dip it into some kind of cleanser, maybe acid wash it....I am pretty sure they did not strip it down to bare metal. We had this discussion...and he think it's not necessary to strip it for the powder to stick.

This company do alot of commercial type powedercoating like window frame, railing, gates, signage etc.....

cool,
I'm not comfortable doing that for my customers, but I just got some Z replica wheels for myself and will try to powdercoat over the existing coating. If they are mine, it doesn't matter if the powdercoat fails later. I'm not saying yours will by any means, just that I don't want to take a chance when I do someone elses stuff.
