Default Fluids ?

Does anyone out there recommend changing the fluids in the car, say to Royal Purple or something else.

(Fluids = tranny, power steering, oil, etc)

I do.. I plan on changing out the trans and diff fluids at about 10K miles.
Will use Redline fluids when the time comes.. Looking to get smoother cold shifting in the M6. It can't hurt to remove the fluids after break-in.. Will also have better quality fluids..

Let me tell ya something.... I'm on JeepForum.com too. All these guys swear by Royal Purple or some other fancy-schmancy stuff. And guess what? While their seals are leakin, my engine is still purring like a kitten with 149,000 miles on it. My old AX-15 5 speed tranny is still shiftin soft and smooth. Why? Because I change the oil every 2K miles, and change the tranny fluid AT LEAST once a year. And all I use is regular stuff.

Nothing but OEM recommended fluids will go into my Vette.

Royal purple in my trans and diff. Definitely improved shift smoothness. I stick with Mobil 1 for the engine.

Transmission is OK, but I would be cautious on changing the diff fluid. The diff doesn't work quite well if you can't match the factory friction. We had an issue with it when we used insufficient amount of friction modifier. At least for the diff, I'd highly recommend factory recommendation.

mostly....I wasn't having any transmission trouble but I did switch to Royal Purple Synchromesh tranny fluid. I was all set to change to RP in the differential but in the absence of any problems and with relatively low mileage, I left well-enough alone (for now). I stick with Mobil 1 motor oil.

Oil and tranny fluid I have no problem with aftermarket but I tried an aftermarket pwoer steering fluid and it completely messed up that system. Car wouldn't turn at times, sluggish, basically undriveable. Had to go back to the GM stuff so for the PS, definitely OEM.
