rat828, I'm just about ready to paint mine, got JSB paint(spray cans) from Gene. I'm thinking 1. a good primer 2. spray 2 coats 3. clear coat with hi temp clear 3 coats. Dismounting but not Disconnecting the calipers, and masking the whole world.

i don't really know about spraying...but i just bought the caliper paint kit for mine. but for me, i just used a regular primer, painted 4 coats, 2 clear coats. I didn't dismount mine cos i didn't know how to, :o but your method sounds like it would be just fine!

Be careful with the clear, not to heavy, on occasion you will need to touch up the paint due to nics or dings from dismounting or mounting tires. Although it looks good, not as easy to touch up.
