Default Please explain event codes

Hello everybody - I was just wondering what exactly an event code is , and how I can obtain it for my Corvette . The dealer I ordered mine from is a family friend , as well as one of the largest in the Northeast . I ordered mine a few weeks ago , and my ETA was mid March . I probably should know this because my Dad worked for GM throughout my entire life , but I don't . Thank You in advance - Ryan

The dealer from whom you ordered the car can look it up. You cannot. Here's a listing of the codes.

STATUS EVENT CODES
1100-Order placed at dealer
1101-Order accepted by GM
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence (now the tpw becomes more stable)
3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400-Order broadcasted for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicled invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

An event code is a system that let's you know where your car is in the process of it's production, from "order accepted" to "car delivered to customer.

Here they are:

1100-Order Accepted-"Preliminary Order Status" of VOMS (Vehicle Order Management System)
2000-Order has been sent to the Placed Tab of VOMS
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence(Target Production Week becomes more stable).
3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400-Order broadcasted for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicled invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

Can you provide more detail on what the codes below actually mean?
"2000-Order has been sent to the Placed Tab of VOMS"
"2001-Order generated to dealer"
and "2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order"

Additionally what code indicates the allocation has been used and the normal process is in motion?

Default Timing to Delivery

I ordered my 2008 CRM on 20 Nov 07, and just got my 3000 Event code last week. Does anyone have a clue as to the timeline between event code 3000 and delivery?

Thanks much!
Rick

I ordered mine the first week of January from Boardwalk Chevy and was just notified yesterday I'm at code 3100 with a TPW of 2/4/08. Hmmm, sounds like someone didn't have an allocation.

Yes having an allocation is a huge thing in the Corvette world. Thanks for the order.

Yeah, I went through that BS for six weeks before my dealer's allocation finally came up. Got nothing but baloney about the status before that. Check with Ken Fitchner. Give him your order number and he'll give you the reall skinny. Had I known how helpful he is, I'd have ordered from him to begin with! Good luck and enjoy your ride when it finally arrives!

Why I don't want OnStar : "Do you want the car back if it is stolen? Example: It's been gone 2 weeks. The interior is filthy, the paint is scratched, the radio / cd player are gone and, you don't know how it was treated. Do you truly want it back or, do you want replacement value from the ins. co.? If mine is stolen I hope they burn it to the axles. "
Insurance companies don't generally insure property for more than it's worth. Most all automobile insurance policies I'm familiar with insure for Actual Cash Value...not replacement value. When your car is stolen and written-off by the carrier they cut you a check for depreciated value. If you somehow insure your car for replacement value that's great...most people don't.
