Default Highbeam help

Hey guys.. I am new to the Corvette scene ( I was a Mustang guy...) and I just got an 05 with 15k miles on it. I flick the high beams on and they don't turn on. The fogs turn off like they should but no high beam?? I check fuses 23/24 and 39. They all seemed fine? What else could be going on??? bulb bad or what?

Also another newbie question, how do I program the car to make it say what I want at start up?

Are there any other cool little things like that??? I don't have a book on the car so I'm relying on searching the forums.

I saw that lowering the car is super easy... maybe some more mods like this too???

Sorry for the newbie questions

Can't help with your problem but here is a link to the 2005 Owner's Manual online, suggest you bookmark it or better yet save it to your local C: drive:

https://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2cont...05corvette.pdf

Also, would you please fill in your profile so folks will know a little about you and your car? It can make a difference in the quality of help you get in the future. Thanks.

Try this, it's in the Owners Manual in the referenced link in the earlier reply.

Headlamp High/Low-Beam Changer
To change the headlamps from low beam to high,
push the turn signal lever all the way forward. To change
from high to low beam, pull the lever rearward.
While the high beams
are on, this light on the
instrument panel cluster
will also be lit.
Flash-to-Pass
To use the flash-to-pass feature, briefly pull the turn
signal lever toward you. The high-beam indicator flashes
to indicate to the other driver that you intend to pass.
If the low-beam headlamps are off and the fog lamps are
on, the fog lamps flash.

Does the high beam indicator come on in the instrument cluster? If it does, you know that the switch and the wiring to the BCM is good. The problem is then with the BCM itself or the wiring going to the headlights. If the high beam indicator doesn't come on, then the problem is likely either the stalk switch or the wiring between the switch and the BCM. A wiring fault is much more likely than a module failure, so be sure to thoroughly check the wiring before considering replacing a module.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Is there a chance the bulb is bad?

There are 2 high beam bulbs, driver's side and passenger side. It is unlikely both would fail at the same time.

The bulbs could be bad. He just got the car so there is no way of knowing if one of the high beams was blown last year and the other yesterday. Check the bulbs.

I just posted a new Thread (Tech) on this same problem (just found this one). It sounds like it is not just an isolated case. I have a new 08 with no high beam ability. Blue high beam light comes on the dash. Loud clicking sound at Micro-Relay #39 when high beam lever pushed. Changed relay but still has the same clicking without the high beam lights. HELP.

What is a BCM? Thanks.

Just checked the high beam bulbs and both are burned out. This is the first place you should check, because it is so easy.
