I was out driving today (perfect blue skies mid 50s) doing some last minute V-Day shopping and rocking out to some Nickel Back when all of a sudden the music stops and my stereo starts ringing. It rang twice, the display said Onstar, and then it just stopped. No one has my OnStar phone number. Has anyone had this happen before? Is Big Brother spying on me?
It happened twice to me during the first year when OnStar was "free." OnStar called once to advise me that it thought there was a problem with the car (there wasn't - my mods make the car look like it's going to explode or something). The second call was to get my credit card number so as to keep OnStar working after the 1 year expired (I declined).
Could have just been the wrong number. I've had that happen before.
If it's OnStar calling, it will normally be a recorded message that asks you to push the button to talk to someone live about subscribing.
If no one was there, just the phone ringing, probably the wrong number.

Thats what I was thinking except that they hung up after two rings without me answering
