Hi All! I'm looking to buy a new Vet, not sure a coupe or Vert. I had a 95 Vert, I'm sure the C6 are better. Any comments? I've found a new 07 Vert at a really good price, almost to good to pass on, same price as a new 08 coupe. Thanks, any suggestions or comments welcome.
If you are in the sunbelt you can't beat a vert. If you intend to do some racing then can't beat a coupe. What do you want from the car? Where are you? Could you fill in your profile?
Lousy winters in Chicagoland but, great spring/summer/fall. I used to drive C2 verts around Park Forest / Chicago Heights in the 60's. It was a great time! I say go for the vert. Good luck.
I always wanted a coupe. bought my 1st vet this past june, got a vert. totally love it. It is so great to drive in the open air. But of course, you have to decide, based on what you like and when and where you drive. Take a few test drives!

i've had 12 or so vettes all verts i had a few coupes but immediately traded them for verts. the way i feel if it's a " sports car" the top has to come down traded my porsche 944 for a mustang gt years because the mustang was a vert. nothing like putting down the top and turning up the radio on a warm spring or summer day
No question in my mind...I wanted the coupe. Granted, the open air feeling of a convertible is great but the advantages of the coupe were just too great. First, I prefer the lines of the coupe over the vert. I also like the superior cargo space of the coupe and the insulation the coupe affords. I also track my car so the hardtop is preferred on the track...there's a definite safety advantage with the coupe in the event of a rollover. I also enjoy driving topless...it's not near the same as a convertible but it suffices for my purposes. There's no right or wrong but the coupe was the right choice for me.
Test drove a vert got a coupe. Targa top is good enough for be. Like the look of the coupe and can still have open air. I think verts only look good with the top down.

Coupe! less $$ for the car, less $$ yearly for insurance, quieter, no re-topping, no puffing up like myself a blowfish on the highway, no ripping-slashing-easy break ins, no leaks and no extra care to keep it looking nice. O yea and the coupe looks 10X nicer compaired to a vert with the top up and just as nice with both off/down. Now what were the advantages of the vert?
