The best DIY projects always spill a bit of blood! ...shows your vette that you're committed to her.

(glad you're OK)

Thanks for the laugh, glad you're okay and have a good sense of humor about it. So, when you were holding the **** with one hand and drilling with the other, did you ignore the little voice that kept telling you it this was a bad idea or just not hear it?

Don't feel too bad. I did the exact same thing with a butter knife and a tray of burnt brownies. The best thing is to laugh it off like you did. I have definitely lost count of how many times I used my hand as a vice/pliers/ruler/pry bar/etc.

Good luck in the recovery... palm injuries are a b*tch!! But at least you have a backup.

I guess you won't be feeling yourself for a while. Seriously, glad you're OK. I never acquired the skills of my dad who could fix anything.

Heh, here's to healing

Last week when installing headers I was grinding the flange on the bottom of my car and there was barely enough room for me under the car much less myself plus an angle grinder. Long story short, I caught my wrist with the angle grinder and sent a good chunk of skin/flesh straight to hell.

Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.

Yup, got a tetanus shot, some stitches, some oxycotin and am waiting for the swelling to subside to see if I can pick my own nose again.....

Thanks for all the replies, it's helped pass the time. And, a gentleman by the name of Pipedreams who states he is the original manufacturer of the white Hurst **** has offered to send me one. A genuinely kind offer which he made via individual e-mail. What a genuinely classy offer.

My clumsiness is matched by his kindness and the method he chose in offering it. Many, many thanks......

All very funny. Glad you're okay and laughing about it.

Since Ed was so nice, again, maybe you could offer up the "commemorative drill" as the next "pay it forward".

I gotta say that actually had me laughing seriously big time!! I'm not laughing at you just the entire idea of destroying a new part and a hand all in one foul swoop. I had a rough day and your story was a welcome relief....

Seriously I hope it heals fast and without complications. Very nice gesture by Pipedreams.... very nice. Wishing you the best and be careful with those little projects hence forth...

Don't need anyone else's bloodied commemerative drills, thank you. For free or otherwise.
