Default Mr. Fixit Does It Again

Received a white Hurst **** from WCC. Went to install it and the hole in the **** was about a 1/2 inch too shallow. "I'll fix it myself" said I, so I took my trusty drill to "gently" deepen it and voila! Not only did I punch through the top of the ****, but nicely followed through into the palm of my hand.....four hours in the emergency room and some stitches later I'm home typing this with one good hand.....yup, I'm just a Jim Dandy Handy Man!

LOL I have a thousand stories just like that but I guess I work on cars more than the average person so I'm blaming statistics. This is the perfect excuse to go and get a soft jaw vice! Keep up the good attitude, thanks for sacrificing yourself for our enjoyment!

On a brighter note, you can use that scar and be hits at parties and school events. See, just tell people you are Jesus and when they demand proof viola!

Maybe you could get a TV show as a DIY challenged husband....maybe call yourself Tim Allen. Seriously though, hope you're OK and suffered no permanent damage.

It was deep enough to leave one finger (yep, that one) unable to completely straighten at this point......it exposed some genuinely unpleasant stuff, but it could have been much worse.........

After puttering around with the cars, my wife usually checks out my hands and if I have not be cut or scraped or still bleeding declares that I must have only looked. Our joke here is if I ain't bleeding, I ain't "mechanic....ing".
