If the handle was horizontal everyone would be asking why that stupid GM didn't put the handle on an angle so it would be easier to pull since we sit so low in the vehicle.

seems like they could have put in another foot control with a release lever somewhere under the dash like a real car
A forum member modified his around a year ago. If I remember right it will not fit all the way down because it's too long. I think he had to do some welding.
I local Forum member bought my spare e-brake handle (I replaced the boot with a GM Cashmere one, and GM sells the complete handle for some unknown reason) and was going to cut and weld it into a better position ... have not seen him since so I do not know if he did it.
Personally, the look of the current one annoys me ...
Is it me or is the angle of the E brake handle kinda f%&^ up????
Doesn't bother me as much as it bothers my wife who constantly hits the thing with her elbow. The ebrake lever on the C5s went full horizontal and was completely out of the way for the passenger, why can't the C6's...

In this case we should be glad they put it on the passenger side. Some cars, Volvo for one, have the e brake on the driver's side. Much worse.
