Compare the number of US employees that US auto makers employ with the number of US employees that foreign auto makers employ.

The only reason foreign automakers have any plants in this country is because it's to their economic benefit. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be here.

However, the foreign manufacturers know how stupid the American public is. They make their commercials telling people that some of their vehicles are made in this country and the American dummies just eat it up. At some point, we will pay for it. Children will be able to thank their parents for the poor decisions that were made.
Well, that is apparently what you think.

As for me, I bought many American cars. My 2002 Monte Carlo was the end for me. It was a piece of crap, that cost me lots of wasted time during it's warranty and then wasted time and money after. A 98 Grand Prix preceded that with the same half-azzed engineering and also was nothing but a headache to me.

I'd love to buy all GM or Ford vehicles, BUT the money out of my pocket is my first concern when buying a car. I will NOT buy another daily driver from GM until they learn how to make a car that works and does not cause me agrivation and pain.

I gave this Honda Civic Si a try becasue of GM's lack of knowing how to make a car that made me want to get another one like it.

The Honda is now 2 years old, I drive it every day, when I keep my foot out of the throttle and keep the RPM's down for normal everyday driving, it gets 30+ MPG. On weeksnds I Auto-x the thing and WIN with it. I win against Mini-Cooper S's and the like. The car has been bullet proff, no problems, no rattles, uses no oil, runs great and cost $20,300 brand new.

At 2 years my 02 Monte Carlo was ready for the junk yard. I would have liked to have driven it off a cliff. It was a total piece of crap.

If GM wants to keep their cars selling and keep their workers working, then make a product that is worth my money.

My money means alot to me, I am not giving it to GM so they can stay in business and dish me out anything they want. EARN my money.

Honda has...

You say foreign manufacturers know how stupid Americans are because they tell us thier cars are built here so we buy them.

GM is doing the same. They advertise "Buy GM, keep your fellow Americans at work" So they can produce garbage vehicles but people will buy them just to keep Americans working.

Make a good product and I'll buy it. I want the best I can get for my money.

You've got to earn my business. It's all that simple.

100% - My daily driver is a Chev. Cobalt LS. It's fun to drive with a 4 Cyl. and 5-speed manual trans. Plus I get 34mpg hwy / 32 mpg average.

We need to support our workers health care and pensions. Some of you need to get a clue.
Wow. I fell better
AMEN, BROTHER!! This is so true, I couldn't have said it any better.
