I had a 3m front bra installed on my JSB and it works really great.. I got the 1/2 hood version with the entire front end installed. I'm now seriously thinking about getting my rockers done as well as behind the wheel wells even though I have Pipedreams splash guards... I personally haven't seen the Venture Shield product..

Some of the guys in our club have it on, White, Spiral Gray and Black. Looks okay on the SG and BL but on the White there is almost a yellow tint to it..

Do you have any pics you can post with it on JSB, I'm considering it but if I can see the line on the hood, may not..

Thanks..

Sounds like the white car has 3M. Venture shield is the way to go regarding yellowing and overall product performance. See the thread I started below regarding my install: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1946332

I've had Ventureshield for about 1.5 years now. The installer did a great job and I have not had one issue yet. Velocity Yellow is very forgiving with clear bra's but I didn't go up the hood at all since I really don't like the interface line, just the complete nose, mirrors (do those for sure), fenders, headlights and foglights.

Just spoke with the Venture Shield Rep for Central Florida. It turns out that Venture Shiled was recently bought out by 3M. They are bringing some vehicles over so I can see the product installed. They do the install for you on your premises

Does anyone do the entire hood? I'd like to do this for my car but the "edge" line is stopping me. I'd go for this if the whole hood was covered and if the wrap went back to the doors in one piece. The key is "one piece". Any seams and I won't do it.

i have 3M on all of my white vehicles. the yellowing is from days gone by. the 3M material is on it's 3rd or 4th generation. the yellowing was from the clear coat that is on it. not an issue today.

Agree 100%, I had Venture Shield installed also, best product on the market today. It is important that the installer is experienced and does quality work.

I agree, also one of the causes for yellowing is waxing over trapped dirt in the clear bra. Use a clear bra cleaner, such as Plexus, that will remove dirt prior to waxing. It is recommended to use Zaino or Rejexs sealants/waxes over the clear bra. Always seal/wax the clear bra after using the cleaner to prevent the dirt from attaching itself onto the clear bra.

Truer words were never spoken.

I have VentureShield also, the installer I used did both but showed that 3M which is also a great product had more of a orange peel surface finish so I went with VS.

The 25th is my install date. I am getting the VS whole hood and whole fender to the door, plus nose, rockers, rear quarter panel area and mirrors.

I will have to disagree guys. I had the 3M put on my white Escalade to test it out if I like it before putting it on my corvette. It yellowed.....returned it 7 months later for a do over....yellowed again within one year(garage kept, not even in sun). I would never put it on my new 2008 AO convertible. I must say I have a friend who put it on his 2003 blue corvette and has never had a problem. Same product used and same person applied it. I think color of car does make a huge difference. Unless it has been changed within the last year I would never recommend it to a light car color owner.

my 07 C6 has 2,400 miles on it garage kept. my CTS (18,000 miles) is white diamond (looks kinda yellowish by default), kept outside. my white avalanche, 14,500 miles garage kept. none of these cars have "yellowing" 3M. who knows????? all have at least gen 3 on them though.

I will say this. I have seen the 3M product (couple years after application and the Venture Shield product (just applied) side by side on the same hood of a yellow C5 and the 3M side was a darker hue of yellow. The 3M product definitely discolored the paint by yellowing. Not to say the newest generation of 3M film is improved but the fact that 3M just bought VS and continues to sell it as an alternate tells me VS is still better.

Agreed. I had the half hood/fenders on for a day and took it off. That line was right there in your face, full hood or nothing for me.
The nose is a necessity and the rockers/scoops aren't as noticeable as a horizontal surface. Only a few months on it (3M on JSB) but I'm extremely pleased. Plexus is great stuff, bugs are no longer an issue, wipes of like it's coated with Pam.
