floor jack height
I already have a jacking puck and just need a floor jack so I can paint my calipers and one day install my own break pads. My question is, do I need a low profile floor jack or will any standard height fit under our cars?
If you already have a floor jack and it won't go under the car, just get some boards and drive the car on them and then you can get the jack under the car.
I'd suggest you buy a Northern Tool crossbeam adaptor so you can lift the car from the preferred lift points. Using the crossbeam adaptor, I use homemade wooden ramps made from 2 x 10's to gain enough height to get my jack and adaptor beam under the front of the car.
I just got my Omega jack delivered along with the cross beam. I Modified the cross beam to fit the jack and tested it out. It works great on the back I still have to try it on the front.

Saw a jack today at Sam's Wholesale that was $69, but it was 5 1/2" at its lowest. Is this low enough to get under the car, I am lowered on stock bolts. It doesn't seem low enough to get under the front.
